Los Angeles, CA (PRWEB) December 09, 2011
Simpaticorp, a leading US data storage provider has released DRXpress data backup and disaster recovery appliance.
The DRXpress physically resides on the client site as a fully functioning network attached storage device (NAS) while continuously replicating encrypted data to private storage servers in Simpaticorps data center.
Each DRXpress is keyed to a private storage server thus eliminating the concern of security of cloud storage. The keyed private server is called DRX Core.
Both the DRXpress and the DRX Core are built on industry standard software stacks including Ubuntu LTS. Other software and hardware vendors include Dell and VMware.
Were excited to be offering business owners the ability to touch and feel their data onsite as well as offer the security and assurance of having their critical data safely backed up in a data center, says Simpaticorp President, Michael Baumann.
Weve made every effort to ensure that the security of our product complies with laws and regulations affecting legal, accounting and medical entities.
Physical specifications for the DRXpress are 9.84 inches wide, 7.87 inches tall and 13.78 inches deep. The DRXpress is delivered to the customer with two physical 500GB HDDs in a RAID1 configuration for a usable storage capacity of 250GB guaranteed with an approximate 487GB ceiling. Four additional drives can be added for a total of six drives.
Simpaticorp intends to deliver the DRXpress to the client site through a network of Managed Service Providers (MSPs). There is no cost to the client for the DRXpress Data Backup Appliance, there is a small setup fee and a monthly fee for 250GB of offsite storage. Additional offsite storage is available.
