As the lead architect and software developer for Ideras SharePoint product group, Michael Foertsch works to develop solutions that reduce the time needed to backup and recover vital SharePoint data while also ensuring its security. In this session, he will introduce SharePoint disaster recovery terms and concepts to help attendees begin their disaster recovery efforts.

In this presentation, Foertsch will discuss basic disaster recovery concepts, what needs to be part of your SharePoint backup strategy, backup coverage, and how to actually do SharePoint backup and restore. In addition, he will cover some disaster recovery tips and tricks, and differences between SharePoint 2007 and 2010 disaster recovery.

Currently, Foertsch is working on Ideras award-winning SharePoint backup product.
