GL conveys the availability of its product Digital Central Office Switch Simulator (DCOSS)

Gaithersburg, MD (PRWEB) April 17, 2012

GL Communications Inc. a leader in providing PC-based test, analysis and simulation products and consulting services to the worldwide telecommunications industry, conveyed today the availability of its product Digital Central Office Switch Simulator (DCOSS) software.

Speaking to media persons, Mr. Robert Bichefsky Senior Manager of the company said, The Digital Central Office Switch Simulator (DCOSS) converts a PC (portable, tower, rack-mount) into a digital central office switch simulator, PBX and switch, complete with T1, E1, POTS, and VoIP Interfaces.

He added, A user-friendly graphical interface (GUI), through which complex switching, signaling, and digital transmission functions are easily controlled, provides the ease of operation as well as the flexibility required from telephony test equipment. In addition, the DCOSS provides a user-friendly GUI, remote client access (GUI, CLI, SDK), and scripting with which users can capture the performance of networks in a wide variety of scenarios.

Mr. Bichefsky further added, DCOSS is ideal for simulating and testing advanced telecom networks and products, including switches, gateways, and transmission systems. The DCOSS can also be used for verifying T1 E1 signaling protocols of new systems. These protocols include a variety of T1 E1 CAS, PRI ISDN, BRI-ST ISDN, SS7, No Call Control, Fax over T1 E1 (V.29, V.27, V.33, and V.17), Modem over T1 E1 (V.21, V.23, V.34, V.90, and V.92), and VoIP protocols (SIP, H.323, MEGACO, MGCP, Fax over IP T.38).

GL Conveys the Availability of Signaling System 7 (SS7) Protocol Simulation using Digital Central Office Switch Simulator (DCOSS)

Gaithersburg, Maryland (PRWEB) April 19, 2012

GL Communications Inc. a leader in providing PC-based test, analysis and simulation products and consulting services to the worldwide telecommunications industry, conveyed today the availability of Signaling System 7 (SS7) Protocol simulation using Digital Central Office Switch Simulator (DCOSS).

Speaking to media persons, Mr. Robert Bichefsky Senior Manager of the company said, The Digital Central Office Switch Simulator (DCOSS) offers the capability of simulating Signaling System 7 (SS7) digital protocol. DCOSS SS7 utilizes a user-friendly GUI in which the complex SS7 configuration can easily be created, thus allowing DCOSS SS7 to be fully functional within a few minutes.

He added, DCOSS SS7 also incorporates the flexibility to modify SS7 parameters, both at the MTP and ISUP/TUP layers as well as the ISUP/TUP message content. This flexibility ensures that the DCOSS SS7 will communicate with the system under test.

Mr. Bichefsky further added, Configuring DCOSS SS7 is quite simple, even for the most complex requirements. The DCOSS SS7 utilizes a GUI that provides the user with all required SS7 parameters. These parameters may be saved to the DCOSS database, after modification, for later retrieval.

GL Conveys the Availability of its Product DCOSS Analog Phone Simulator (APS)

Gaithersburg, MD (PRWEB) April 21, 2012

Gaithersburg, Maryland, USA -April 20, 2012- GL Communications Inc. a leader in providing PC-based test, analysis and simulation products and consulting services to the worldwide telecommunications industry, conveyed today the availability of its product DCOSS Analog Phone Simulator (APS) software.

Speaking to media persons, Mr. Robert Bichefsky Senior Manager of the company said, The DCOSS APS (Analog Phone Simulator) converts a GL DCOSS into an analog phone simulator that simulates a bank of up to 384 analog telephones. Using a basic DCOSS with T1 trunks along with the APSCB24/48 external boxes, the DCOSS APS may be used to test a Central Office (CO), PBX, Gateway, or other telecommunications equipment, which provide local loop interfaces.

He added, All functionality currently associated with the DCOSS, including bulk calling, scripting, and remote client/server, may be used to control the APSCB24/48 2-wire analog ports. In addition to the functionality, all traffic supported by the DCOSS (Fax, Modem, Voice Files, DTMF/MF Digits, Frequency Tones) is also fully supported by the APSCB24/48 devices.

Mr. Bichefsky further added, The DCOSS connects to the APSCB24/48 via a T1 (up to two T1′s per APSCB24/48) and digital calls are generated to the APSCB24/48 using the DCOSS GUI. Each digital call signifies analog offhook with DTMF dialed digits from the APSCB24/48. Both outgoing and incoming analog calls are supported.

The connection to the APSCB24/48 includes a standard amphenol connector, which can be connected to a breakout box that supports up to 24 2-wire interfaces. Each of the analog ports (up to 48 per APSCB24/48, maximum of 384 ports per DCOSS system) serves as an independent analog telephone, which can be individually configured and activated for various telephony tasks.
