Vienna, VA (PRWEB) March 27, 2012

Alarm.com, the industry leading technology provider of interactive security solutions, today expanded its lineup of mobile apps to include native support for iPad. With the latest version of its iOS app, now optimized for iPad, Alarm.com delivers a ubiquitous mobile experience for customers, enabling them to use any of their connected mobile devices to control their Alarm.com powered system.

Alarm.coms native support for iPad is the latest in the companys expansive mobile app portfolio, which includes native apps for iPhone, Android, Windows Phone 7 and BlackBerry devices, as well as a mobile-friendly website for other web-enabled cell phones. Any Alarm.com subscriber with an interactive service plan can take advantage of the full lineup of Alarm.com mobile interfaces. By bringing interactive services to the devices customers already have in their hands, Alarm.com continues to extend the value and reach of its platform.

In the past two years, weve seen our user base transition from interacting with their Alarm.com systems primarily through their web account, to interacting multiple times per day through a mobile device, said Alison Slavin, Alarm.com Vice President of Product Management. We are especially excited to add enhanced native support for iPad, as many of our Dealer Partners and end users view iPad as the ideal user interface for a home security and energy management system.

Through Alarm.coms mobile apps, users can monitor all system activity in their home, remotely control devices like thermostats, door locks and lights, look into their property through secure video cameras, and receive alerts whenever new activity is reported such as a door opening, power failure or alarm. Alarm.com subscribers increasingly use their mobile devices from inside their properties, whether they are sitting on the couch reading a book on their iPad or locking up the house through their phone from the comfort of their bed at night.

Alarm.com Announces Location-Based Services

Vienna, VA (PRWEB) March 27, 2012

Alarm.com, the industry leading technology provider of interactive security solutions, today announced that it will be integrating location-based services into its security and automation platform. By allowing users to opt-in and incorporate their mobile phone location as an additional input for system rules and notifications, Alarm.com will enable more intelligent whole home automation and the most relevant real-time system activity alerts.

Alarm.coms initial set of Geo-Services will include a location-based version of the companys popular Arming Reminders feature, allowing users to receive an alert if they leave their home geofence without remembering to arm the security system. Alarm.coms Geo-Services will be a user set option and also support applications where multiple mobile phones are used to trigger a rule. For example, when both Moms and Dads mobile phones are outside of the Home geofence on a weekday morning, a Geo-Services rule can be triggered to arm the security system, lower the thermostat and turn off all the lights. Users will also be able to define custom geofences around other significant locations like a second home, childs school, or workplace, enabling more sophisticated rules in the future that look at multiple phone locations relative to multiple geofences to decide whether to change system settings or trigger notifications.

We are very excited about the applications we can enable by layering location-based services into our security and automation platform, said Rebecca Davenport, Senior Product Manager at Alarm.com. By expanding our rules-based automation and notifications to look at location, in addition to other inputs like schedule and device status, we can offer our end user customers greater system flexibility, efficiency and overall value.

Alarm.com plans to launch its new Geo-Services with location-based Arming Reminders in spring 2012 and will continue to expand the platform with innovative new functionality moving forward.
