GoBeyondIT Announces Availability of the Hosted Hourly Desktop; Providing Freedom from IT Hassle & Ultimate Budget Flexibility

Baltimore (Vocus) February 25, 2010

In the era of do more with less, GoBeyondIT, an innovative provider of IT solutions for small and medium businesses, today announced the availability of the Hosted Hourly Desktop. The offering provides clients with a fully hosted and secure Microsoft Desktop solution at tiered pricing based on usage.

The offering is ideal for the growing business market, where business owners must constantly evaluate how to purchase and manage technology with maximum flexibility and efficiency. What the Hosted Hourly Desktop provides is a way to completely outsource IT so that employees only need an Internet connection to access a secure, Microsoft Office desktop with all the applications and support they need. Whats more, clients can right size their technology spend, purchasing hosted access in quantities that make sense for specific job functions.

The best salespeople are in the field 75 percent of the time, so there is no reason to spend money on technology as if they sit at their desks 100 percent of the time, said GoBeyondIT CEO Rick Crane. After six months of research, we determined that 50 percent of system time is idle. That means theres waste. And where theres waste, theres room to save money.

With the Hosted Hourly Desktop, businesses pay as little as $ 69 per user per month, and can choose from three packages: the 40-hour Desktop, the 80-hour Desktop and the Unlimited Desktop.

Patriot Electric, a 95-employee company based in the Baltimore area, recently turned to the Hosted Hourly Desktop to save money on technology while that its systems were up to date and secure.

The Hosted Hourly Desktop fits my companys work style, said Talbot Watkins, President of Patriot Electric. GoBeyondIT cares about how we do business, how we perform our most important daily tasks and then finding the highest quality match in terms of technology resources.

Select Hosted Hourly Desktop features include:

Microsoft Hosted Windows Desktops
Microsoft Office 2007
Microsoft SharePoint for office file sharing
QuickBooks or Peachtree hosting with DataVault
Microsoft Exchange E-mail via web mail
iPhone and BlackBerry Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync
Access from anywhere, on any device, anytime

Smartenit Delivers First Android, iOS, Web Browser and Desktop Application for ZigBee and INSTEON Monitoring and Control

San Juan Capistrano, CA (PRWEB) April 13, 2012

Smartenit has introduced a simple, yet highly effective client/server model for handling automation via ZigBee, INSTEON and X10. The Harmony gateways, in their role as servers, take care of all the vagaries of the underlying protocols and the physical connection (wireless or powerline) to the devices in the automation network. The client application on the mobile or desktop platform takes advantage of the work done by the server, and concentrates on the presentation to the user. Communication between the client and the server is done via a lean API that ensures very rapid response and fast interaction. This architecture makes for a pleasant user experience in interacting with the various switches, sensors, appliances and systems in the installation. The streamlined architecture offers the benefits of fast response time, easy inclusion of new devices, transparency of protocol to the user, wider choice of available devices, and future expandability. Seamless control of home automation devices bridging ZigBee, INSTEON and X10 allows a user remote and local control of the widest spectrum of devices without worrying about the various nuances of the diverse technologies. “This App gives our customer a consistent user experience, more options for devices in their network, and the ability to build upon systems they may already have in place”, states Sammy Korotie, sales administrator.

The application focuses on facilitating the main aspects of monitoring and control: addition and maintenance of devices, organization of the automation network according to user preferences, and setup of automation events based on either/both time and device conditions. Simple operations are provided to go from plugging in a device for the first time, to operating it remotely in less than 30 seconds.

Monitor and control from anywhere. The server gateway is the controller attached to a router in the user environment and to the devices in the automation network. The Smartenit App can connect to this server from anywhere, assuming the user has an Internet connection. This opens a myriad of possibilities for monitoring and controlling from the office, from a remote city while on vacation, from a different continent, from anywhere.

Immediate support is provided for a broad line of devices including: whole house energy monitoring, temperature / humidity monitoring, large and small load control from lighting to HVAC and pool pumps, smart plugs that report electricity consumption, and irrigation control. These devices can be set for simple on/off control, timed actions, or more complex control based upon various rules that, when met, trigger automation events. Status of the devices in real-time is displayed by the application taking advantage of data pushed from the server when the status on a device changes.

The application was developed in a way that versions with the same look-and-feel are created simultaneously for Android, iOS (IPhone and iPad) and BlackBerry Tablet. Likewise, versions are available for all major desktop systems including Windows, MacOS and Linux. Finally, for the ultimate in remote connectivity, the same application is available for rapid download to any browser supporting the Adobe Flash player from http://www.harmonygateway.com

Version 1 of the application is available free for use with Smartenit Harmony gateways.

Role Of Desktop Virtualization In Virtual Private Server Technology

Very like the process of server virtualization, desktop virtualization separates the physical location of a client device from its logical and internal interface. In the larger interests, this innovative web hosting utility allows end users to access the data and application without specific hardware hassles. This mode of virtualization mitigates the management and support cost and other soaring hardware expenses. If web hosting experts are to be believed, desktop virtualization is available in two modes of service segments.

In the scenario of hosted desktop virtualization, a virtual machines is hosted by servers available at the data centers. In order to create a server connection, users use connection brokers to receive their user interface via some of the highly popular and safe standard protocols like Remote Desktop Protocol etc. Another sort of the virtualization of desktop is called client virtualization where some particular software is installed on the client to allow running multiple operating systems together.

Desktop Virtualization Add-Ons: With the aspects of DV in a web hosting services company,  users are not bounded to reduce the number of PCs on a single server. Among other considerable advantages of this kind of virtualization, users may count on reduced infrastructure costs, manageable desktop environments and centralized provisioning of PCs and other client devices. Significant bandwidth is also an important benefit of this process and in compare to the other client computing modules, the ratio of users using the services are relatively very high.

It allows affordable upgrades to the servers, storage, and network infrastructure very effectively.

Hosted Desktop Benefits: In the hosted virtualization model, both data and applications run on the same server that users can make use during streaming of the data. At one way it offers enhanced security to the application and at other, it transfers much of the desktop processing workload from client devices to the data center in order to allow IT departments to reduce their infrastructure overheads.

In the client virtualization model offered by a web hosting company, IT departments of the organization separate the confidential data and applications and protects the data from unauthorized security breach of any kind. Network administrators assign different levels of security patches to virtual machines based on the permissions and authentications for the users.

Desktop virtualization is an ideal IT infrastructure model adopted by the web hosting service providers where systems and PCs are used both for personal and professional use and a tough regime of security restrictions are imposed to enable smooth functioning of privacy guidelines strict with data privacy regulations and terms.

BrainPulse Web Hosting India offers Cheap VPS Hosting, Secure/Shared VPS Hosting Solutions and control their own private servers without compromising on performance.

London, UK (PRWEB UK) 13 December 2012 Cloud computing has evolved over the last 3 years to now provide a third generation Cloud network which spans across the data centre and the organisation to support the so called Hybrid Cloud. This era of computing power has transformed the way organisations have managed their IT systems, however the desktop PC has however fallen far behind in the development cycle with many firms running on slow and sluggish computers. Consequently many organisations have opted for basic virtual desktops running on a Terminal Services (TS) infrastructure. In this scenario, the users share the same IT resource to access their virtual desktop, stored centrally in the Cloud. This development didnt deliver on what it promised and many organisations have opted to keep their desktop computers on-site, accessing the Cloud on a service only basis for apps or system functions such as disaster recovery or online backup. Users were becoming concerned that the Cloud was not all it was cracked up to be – until now. London Cloud Computing and infrastructure provider Commensus has today announced the launch of an authentic new Cloud Desktop operating at full capacity in the Cloud. Each user has access to their own dedicated, Citrix virtual desktop that can be accessed from any location and from any device through the Cloud. Running on the latest processors and with an enterprise Windows operating system, this VDI is bound to impress even the most frustrated critic. Users want to access their desktop on the go. They need it to be fast, accessible and above all secure, says Commensus CTO Alex Parker. The new Cloud Desktop hosted on our enterprise Cloud Computing platform delivers unparalleled responsiveness. Users get all the benefits of a high performance VDI, whilst IT Managers can enjoy centrally managed apps and system processes to ensure security of the data both at the user level but also within the data centre. With all of the users applications and data stored centrally, company directors fears of allowing employees to take sensitive data out of the office are diminished.
