4-Axis Turner Made its IWF Debut at Laguna Tools Display

Irvine, CA (PRWEB) September 07, 2012

The earth spins on its axis, while this remarkable new CNC offering from Laguna Tools turns on four of them! This is a true 4-Axis Turner offering woodworking professionals and serious hobbyists many of the same specifications found on Laguna Tools’ much larger CNC machines, yet only in a smaller package at a very affordable price. The Laguna CNC 4-Axis Turner made its debut at the IWF Show on August 22, 2012, bringing a new sensation to CNC machinery.

It truly is the best of both worlds, said Torben Helshoj, President of Laguna Tools. Not only does it require a very conservative footprint (36 x 80 with 13″ of Z travel at 10″ diameter on A axis), but this beautifully engineered piece of equipment enables woodworkers to literally create anything they envision from intricately carved gun stocks and wood turnings to claw foot legs with mortiseand-tendon joints. Basically, if you can imagine it, you can create it with the Laguna 4 Axis CNC Turner. Even flat stock can be easily processed by simply removing the turner attachment.

The Laguna 4-Axis CNC Turner is also available in a two-up version with two spindles and two rotary axis for even higher turning productivity, and woodworkers will appreciate the ease-of-use of the Austrian-made Laguna CNC Touch Controller from B&R Automation. Were very proud of the control system, which we developed in cooperation with B&R, said Helshoj. Our customers say its the easiest, most intuitive control package theyve ever used.

Solutions in Action: Nercon will showcase its Conveyor Changeover Efficiency Loop Display

Oshkosh, WI (PRWEB) November 01, 2012

At PACK EXPO 2012, Nercon will showcase its Conveyor Changeover Efficiency Loop with safety and energy monitoring demonstrations. The racetrack-configured conveyor loop displays a variety of Nercons adjustable guide rail assemblies, from manual to fully automated control solutions.

The Oshkosh, Wis.-based company, having surpassed the 35 year benchmark, is well-known for engineering and manufacturing processing and package handling conveyor systems. Serving food and consumer goods manufacturing industries, Nercon specializes in solving manufacturing business objectives from maximizing production capacity to reducing production line down time.

The quick changeover conveyor loop demonstration will help manufacturers with multiple stock-keeping units discover strategies for increasing production efficiencies. One size does not fit all when it comes to conveyors, so the first step in increasing efficiency is creating a mechanical and control solution that fits each applications unique needs. Nercons quick changeover conveyor loop display allows users to test and compare several levels of changeover solutions, including quickset bracket assemblies, set-in rails, hand-wheel adjustable guide rails, and push-button automatic guide rails.

Improving changeover efficiency is a top priority for our consumer products manufacturing customers with multiple SKU product lines, said Mike Weickert, director of application engineering at Nercon. Its up to Nercon to work with the production team to optimize the conveyor line with an equipment and controls solution that provides the best changeover efficiencies for the application with adaptability and flexibility for the future.

An Allen-Bradley PanelView Plus 6 human machine interface (HMI) provides a user-friendly interface between the machine and operator monitoring the changeover. The HMI is programmed on the demonstrative loop using FactoryTalk
