Arbor Networks to Showcase Worlds Leading DDoS Mitigation Solutions for Enterprises at Internet Security Days 2012 in Bruehl Germany

Chelmsford, MA (PRWEB) September 04, 2012

Arbor Networks, Inc., a leading provider of network security and management solutions for enterprise and service provider networks, today announced that they are a Platinum sponsor for the Internet Security Days 2012 (ISD 2012) trade show and exhibition taking place in Bruehl, Germany on September 11-12, 2012.

Arbor participated in the ISD 2011 and found it to be a very worthwhile event, bringing together leading technology vendors and enterprises concerned about a wide variety of security and networking issues, said Michael Tullius, Arbor Networks country manager in Germany. For more than a dozen years Arbor has been focused on the DDoS problem, and we have closely tracked its evolution. Today, any business operating online is a potential target of hackers. Weve developed purpose-built solutions for enterprises of all sizes who are concerned with maintaining the availability of Internet assets, from networks to applications and services.

Dynamic Threat Landscape: DDoS Targeting Businesses of All Sizes

With the rise of hacktivism in recent years, any enterprise operating online can become a target, because of who they are, what they sell, who they partner with. The explosion of inexpensive and readily-accessible attack tools is enabling anyone to carry out DDoS attacks. At the other end of the spectrum, commercial DDoS services are running full-steam, with a variety of service offerings available. Botnets for hire are springing up everywhere, and unskilled attackers are now able to hire botnet services for bargain-basement prices. Just as an enterprise can subscribe to a technology provider or a cloud-based DDoS mitigation service, hacktivists can subscribe to a DDoS service to launch attacks. Not only can potential customers test drive DDoS attack services before purchasing, they also can get discounts for multiple purchases. Some services offer persistent attacks for as little as $ 1000/month. This has profound implications for the threat landscape, risk profile, network architecture and security deployments for any business operating online today.

World Leader in DDoS Mitigation

Arbor Networks 450 customers include the vast majority of the world’s service providers and many of the largest enterprise networks in use today. According to a recent report from Infonetics Research titled, DDoS Prevention Appliance Market Outlook, Arbor Networks was cited as top supplier of DDoS prevention solutions overall as well as in the Carrier, Enterprise, Government and Mobile market segments.

Availability & Investment Protection for the Enterprise

What makes Arbors approach to DDoS such an important solution for the enterprise is that it not only protects against availability threats such as application-layer DDoS attacks, it provides investment protection to existing security infrastructure. For example, firewalls and IPS are designed for important security problems other than DDoS. They were built to stop unauthorized access to critical resources, enforce corporate security policies and prevent data loss. Whats changed is that availability itself is now under assault and it requires a solution designed specifically for todays complex DDoS problem.

Morgenthaler Ventures Announces Finalists of the 2012 DC to VC: HIT Startup Showcase

Menlo Park, CA (PRWEB) September 18, 2012

Morgenthaler Ventures, a premier venture capital firm, Health 2.0, the conference that showcases the leading new technologies in healthcare, announced today the 13 finalists for their nation-wide contest to find the most promising health IT startups looking for Seed and Series A funding. The 13 company founders will present in front of leading venture capitalists, angel investors, government officials and entrepreneurs on the last day of the annual Health 2.0 conference on October 10, 2012 in San Francisco, CA. Attendees will also hear from Jeff Tangney, CEO of Doximity and founder of Epocrates on building health IT startups and former Congressman Patrick J. Murphy on the upcoming implementation of healthcare reform.

“I started this conference three years ago, when we invested in Practice Fusion, because the emerging opportunities in Health IT were still relatively ignored for investors in Silicon Valley,” said Rebecca Lynn, Partner at Morgenthaler Ventures and head of the firm’s health IT investing team. Since then, we have seen an explosion in the space. We are proud to welcome Jeff Tangney, CEO of Doximity, to our investment portfolio as he has a long track record in health IT and will have many lessons to share with the young entrepreneurs who are just starting out in the room.

This year, the contest held open applications for Series A venture back-able health IT companies. The Seed stage candidates were submitted by accelerator partners: Rock Health, Blue Print Health, Healthbox and Startup Health.

“The pipeline for health IT startups has never been more full thanks to our accelerator partners who are pushing tech entrepreneurs into the space, said Missy Krasner, Executive in Residence (EIR) at Morgenthaler Ventures and former Google Health founding member. We received over 140 applications this year and many aligned with the areas in the industry we mapped out for our own investing thesis at Morgenthaler. Because of that, it was difficult for our pre-selection judges to narrow down the finalist list and that is why we have some honorable mentions this year too.

Oshkosh, WI (PRWEB) November 01, 2012

At PACK EXPO 2012, Nercon will showcase its Conveyor Changeover Efficiency Loop with safety and energy monitoring demonstrations. The racetrack-configured conveyor loop displays a variety of Nercons adjustable guide rail assemblies, from manual to fully automated control solutions.

The Oshkosh, Wis.-based company, having surpassed the 35 year benchmark, is well-known for engineering and manufacturing processing and package handling conveyor systems. Serving food and consumer goods manufacturing industries, Nercon specializes in solving manufacturing business objectives from maximizing production capacity to reducing production line down time.

The quick changeover conveyor loop demonstration will help manufacturers with multiple stock-keeping units discover strategies for increasing production efficiencies. Improving changeover efficiency is a top priority for our consumer products manufacturing customers with multiple SKU product lines, said Mike Weickert, director of application engineering at Nercon. Its up to Nercon to work with the production team to optimize the conveyor line with an equipment and controls solution that provides the best changeover efficiencies for the application with adaptability and flexibility for the future.

An Allen-Bradley PanelView Plus 6 human machine interface (HMI) provides a user-friendly interface between the machine and operator monitoring the changeover. The HMI is programmed on the demonstrative loop using FactoryTalk

The LogicMonitor team will be on hand to answer questions and demonstrate its hosted monitoring solution, which is fast-becoming a popular alternative to both premise-based and open source solutions.

IT infrastructure monitoring has traditionally been thought of as a resource drain and cost-center, says LogicMonitor CEO Kevin McGibben. Thats because traditional solutions premise-based and/or open source require a lot of engineer time, and in many cases a large capital expenditure, to implement and maintain. Our SaaS-based monitoring model disrupts that way of thinking. McGibben says LogicMonitors architecture allows new clients to start monitoring their infrastructure in as little as fifteen minutes, with no upfront costs, and a simple per host per month pricing model gives users the flexibility to easily scale up or down at will.

The ability to effectively monitor all levels of the IT infrastructure is especially relevant to VMware users, who are heavily dependent on interrelated complex technologies in their infrastructure stack such as NetApp and Cisco. This necessity has fueled the growing popularity of FlexPod a pre-configured and validated architecture containing server, storage and networking components thats ready for use out-of-the-box. LogicMonitor has positioned itself as the go-to standard for FlexPod monitoring.
