Atlanta, GA (Vocus/PRWEB) April 01, 2011

Global Net Access (GNAX), a leading healthcare technology service provider, announces that Jeff Hinkle, its President and Chief Operating Officer and Emory Healthcare Chief Information Officer, Dedra Cantrell will speak on creating a healthcare technology ecosystem at the Institute for Health Technology Transformation HIT Summit on April 5th and 6th. The event will be held at the Westin, downtown Atlanta, Georgia. This case study will focus on Emorys HIT evolution with GNAX, creating an HIT Ecosystem that lowers costs, improves application delivery and performance and provides direct access to healthcare applications such as GNAXs new health information exchange.

I am excited to share with my colleagues some of the key technology endeavors we have made recently at Emory, mentioned Emory Healthcare CIO, Dedra Cantrell. GNAX has been a strong partner of Emorys proving that it understands our problems and can get things done for us. This case study reveals how we lowered costs and increased our agility in these uncertain times with GNAXs help. And, this is not unique to just Emory, but can be applied to any healthcare provider.

This talk at the HIT Summit will illustrate how Emory Healthcare partnered with GNAX to create one pool of resources that can be leveraged to enable better performance in all healthcare technology areas while lowering costs an HIT Ecosystem. Ms. Cantrell will cover the details of developing a formidable disaster recovery solution, slashing bandwidth costs, utilizing the cloud to offload second tier applications, reducing and redirecting staffing needs and enabling meaningful health information exchange.

We created this healthcare technology ecosystem to better serve our clients like Emory, said GNAX President and Chief Operating Officer, Jeff Hinkle. The key is to get connected first. Once you are connected into this ecosystem from a network perspective, you have direct access to a multitude of healthcare technology services, not only from GNAX but from our partners and other healthcare technology providers who we service in our data center as well.

With Growth on the Horizon, Atlanta Humane Society Selects ProviDyn for IT Support, Strategy and Services

Atlanta, GA (PRWEB) August 24, 2011

ProviDyn, a provider of IT support, strategy and services for small and medium-sized businesses, announced today that Atlantas oldest private non-profit animal welfare organization, the Atlanta Humane Society (AHS), has selected the company to provide services to its current location and a new campus opening in December 2011.

Expanding to an additional location prompted AHS to look for a technology provider that could act as a partner and augment its limited internal IT resources to ensure seamless communication between both locations. After an extensive review process, AHS selected ProviDyn to provide managed services, application and IP telephony support, as well as vendor management for both AHS locations. The ProviDyn team will also work closely with AHS to implement cost saving solutions by removing aging equipment and improving processes and efficiency with cloud services.

With two facilities, we needed a professional resource to help us manage the day to day technology piece of the puzzle and also the complexities of ensuring our IT infrastructure could support both locations, said Chris Slee, Vice President of Finance for AHS. Right away we felt that ProviDyn was the right choice. They came in with a hands on approach, solid track record of meeting the technology needs of small and medium-sized businesses and a willingness to customize a solution to fit our needs.

The new Mansell campus of AHS is funded by an ongoing $ 10M capital campaign and is expected to allow the organization to double the number of animal adoptions to 12,000 dogs and cats annually and total between 8,000 and 16,000 spay/neuter surgeries. Expanding North of the perimeter also opens up the possibilities for AHS to engage new supporters and adopting families.

Atlanta Humane Society Gains Flexibility and Improves Collaboration with ProviDyn"s Private Cloud Services

Atlanta, GA (PRWEB) February 29, 2012

ProviDyn, a provider of IT support, managed and cloud services for small and medium-sized businesses, announced today that its client, the Atlanta Humane Society, has decided to move its existing managed services to ProviDyns private cloud. This builds on ProviDyns existing partnership with the Atlanta Humane Society which included managed services, application and IP telephony support, as well as vendor management for both Atlanta Humane Society locations.

The Atlanta Humane Society, Atlantas oldest private non-profit animal welfare organization, expanded its reach in December 2011 by opening a second location. After consulting with ProviDyn, the Atlanta Humane Society decided centralizing its technology infrastructure and applications would provide increased capabilities and the advantage of unified communication between facilities. As a result, employees and executives are able to seamlessly collaborate across locations, accessing systems and maintaining capabilities from any Atlanta Humane Society facility.

ProviDyn has been an extension of our team and an invaluable partner in helping manage the technology needs for our business, said Chris Slee, Vice President of Finance for Atlanta Humane Society. After opening our second location, ProviDyn made the recommendation that a private cloud would give us more flexibility and enhance collaboration across the organization.

This is a wonderful opportunity to continue supporting the Atlanta Humane Society in its mission to prevent neglect, abuse, cruelty and exploitation of animals, said Hamish Davidson, president and co-founder of ProviDyn. As with many other non-profit organizations, the Atlanta Humane Society is extremely budget conscious. Being receptive to new solutions such as a private cloud, can bring tremendous benefits, including reliability and enhanced security, at a reasonable cost.

Network Thermostat"s UP32-WIFI Wi-Fi Thermostat wins the WFX 2012 New Product Facility Award at WFX Expo in Atlanta, GA

Grapevine, Texas (PRWEB) September 19, 2012

NetworkThermostat, a leading communications-based thermostat manufacturer since 1995, is the recipient of the WFX 2012 New Product Facility Award for its new UP32-WIFI wireless IP thermostat. This new programmable communicating thermostat (PCT) is a Wi-FI thermostat that includes a built-in web server, allowing simple connection from any PC, Mac, smart phone or tablet. The intuitive interface and powerful web engine puts the right amount of control at the right location. The web server automatically detects the type of device (PC, Mac, tablet or mobile phone) making the connection and delivers the right user experience with either the full webpages (PC, Mac or iPad), or mobile pages for small browser platforms such as an iPhone or Android phone. This commercial grade thermostat includes the exclusive Net/X Advanced Remote Sensor Bus, allowing up to eleven (11) remote sensors to be attached for monitoring of up to 6 different sensor types.

“Its gotta be simple” is the driving force behind the development, bringing together software, hardware and human engineering to create a 802.11-based product that allows for the perfect blend of aesthetics and technology.

While traditional programmable thermostats place a burden on the user to program every schedule from the front panel of the thermostat, this Internet thermostat allows point and click control from just about any browser on any device from anywhere theres a Wi-Fi or Internet connection. The UP32-WIFI is an automatic changeover 3-Heat / 2-Cool thermostat with programmability from just a single schedule to seven days per week with up to four events per day. Schedule programming is performed over the Wi-Fi connection, where it should be done, not from the front panel of the thermostat. Thermostat hieroglyphics and the energy wasteful hold button are a thing of the past. Its a powerful new product with the perfect combination of simple front-panel operation and sophisticated control from the browser, said Jerry Drew, NetworkThermostats President. In addition, creating an extended hold (vacation) can be quickly done from the thermostat front panel or from the Wi-Fi connection. With the UP32-WIFI, the user simply enters the day and time to return to normal schedules, allowing energy savings when away and energy efficiency when not.

Because this is an IP thermostat, secure Wi-Fi connection and control can occur from anywhere inside the home or business, and connection from the Internet if youre not at the thermostats location. In addition, controlling multiple UP32-WIFI thermostats is as easy as controlling one. Users have multiple options of using the free Internet-based Net/X Remote Device login tool, free Net/X Device Explorer tool for on-site LANs (both tools will list all of the users thermostats), the free Enterprise-Class Net/X Command Center software for drag-and-drop scheduling of multiple thermostats.

The UP32-WIFI has universal equipment control for conventional gas/electric, heat pump (including dual fuel), electric, and hydronic heat systems. The new thermostat engages both residential and commercial features, including Smart Schedule Recovery which allows intelligent temperature recovery, Efficient Equipment Restart which efficiently staggers scheduled start times to eliminate multiple units starting at once, adjustable override time and min/max setpoints, fan recirculation, vacation scheduling, keypad lockout, and many more powerful features.

While the UP32-WIFI is a great solution for simple residential or second-home installations, the thermostat also supports a long list of auxiliary inputs and sensors, making it ideal for commercial use. Its like having a miniature building automation system in a thermostat. Each UP32-WIFI supports ONE (1) OCCUPANCY SENSOR, TWO (2) DIGITAL INPUTS for condensate switch, dirty filter or other fault conditions, and the most advanced remote sensor bus on the market. The advanced remote sensor bus supports a total of ELEVEN (11) SENSORS with up to six (6) indoor remote sensors, an outdoor sensor, a humidity/temperature sensor, plus configurable auxiliary temperature sensors that allows up to three (3) separate monitoring and alerting points on every thermostat all on a simple 3-wire bus. The auxiliary temperature sensors can be used for a long list of measuring, monitoring and alerting including items such as supply air, return air, walk-in freezers, refrigerated display cases, computer rooms, wine rooms/cellars, cooling and heating water loops, pool/spa water temperatures and others.

The UP32-WIFI platform has the most powerful email and text message alerting available on a thermostat. Up to 4 email and text message destinations can be used for reminders and alerting of a myriad of conditions for both customer and service personnel. With the embedded secure email server, configuration for alerts are as simple as entering the email addresses and phone numbers. Then simply point-and-click the particular alert conditions and destinations. Alerts can be sent to the end user, service contractor, or both. Critical alerts can be repeated, if desired, until the alert condition has been corrected and the alert reset. There are a total of sixteen (16) different alert conditions available for use. The alerts include filter change reminders and a powerful Inefficient Equipment Run alert, allowing the contractor to know when equipment is not operating properly and to provide proactive service for his customer.

NetworkThermostat also teamed up with the most powerful weather service, Weatherbug

ProviDyn Installs New Computers in Exam Rooms, Improving Efficiency for the Atlanta Humane Society Howell Mill Animal Clinic

Atlanta, GA (PRWEB) June 25, 2012

ProviDyn, a provider of IT support, strategy and services for small and medium-sized businesses, announced today it has procured and installed new wall-mounted computers in the exam rooms at the Atlanta Humane Societys Howell Mill Animal Wellness Clinic. These upgrades come on the heels of the Atlanta Humane Society opening a second location and furthering its partnership with ProviDyn by migrating its technology infrastructure and applications to the private cloud.

After its newest location opened in December, AHS wanted to continue making improvements to its Howell Mill location as well. The Howell Mill Animal Wellness Clinic is a full-service, fully-staffed pet hospital at the Atlanta Humane Society – the city’s only animal welfare organization to have such a program. The new computers will save time and improve efficiency for clinic employees who previously relied on hand writing information and then, later, taking the extra step of data entry.

Continuing to make upgrades and improvements to our Howell Mill facility will help us operate more efficiently and, in turn, make our clinic an affordable, yet attractive option for pet owners who might not otherwise have the resources to care for their pets, said Chris Slee, Vice President of Finance for AHS. ProviDyn has been a reliable partner and continues to uncover ways for us to leverage technology at both AHS facilities.

Something as simple as new computers in exam rooms can make a large impact on an organization like AHS, said Hamish Davidson, president and co-founder of ProviDyn. Employees will operate more efficiently and have additional time to focus on what is important – caring for animals. As a long-standing partner of AHS, we are always looking for new ways that technology can positively impact the organization.

LogicMonitor Sponsors Atlanta VMUG to Showcase SaaS-based VMware and IT Infrastructure Monitoring Solution

(PRWEB) November 06, 2012

LogicMonitor, the leading SaaS-based IT infrastructure monitoring solution for physical, virtual, and cloud environments, today announced its sponsorship of the VMUG (VMware Users Group) event at the Atlanta Convention Center on November 7, 2012. The LogicMonitor team will be on hand to answer questions and demonstrate its hosted monitoring solution, which is fast-becoming a popular alternative to both premise-based and open source solutions.

IT infrastructure monitoring has traditionally been thought of as a resource drain and cost-center, says LogicMonitor CEO Kevin McGibben. Thats because traditional solutions premise-based and/or open source require a lot of engineer time, and in many cases a large capital expenditure, to implement and maintain. Our SaaS-based monitoring model disrupts that way of thinking. McGibben says LogicMonitors architecture allows new clients to start monitoring their infrastructure in as little as fifteen minutes, with no upfront costs, and a simple per host per month pricing model gives users the flexibility to easily scale up or down at will.

The ability to effectively monitor all levels of the IT infrastructure is especially relevant to VMware users, who are heavily dependent on interrelated complex technologies in their infrastructure stack such as NetApp and Cisco. This necessity has fueled the growing popularity of FlexPod a pre-configured and validated architecture containing server, storage and networking components thats ready for use out-of-the-box. LogicMonitor has positioned itself as the go-to standard for FlexPod monitoring.

Companies interested in gaining instant visibility into their entire IT infrastructure can get a 14-day free trial of the full version of LogicMonitor at http://www.LogicMonitor.com. Or they can get free access to a live demo portal at http://www.LogicMonitor.com/VMUG-Test-Drive.

About LogicMonitor

LogicMonitor, Inc. is the leading SaaS-based IT infrastructure monitoring solution, giving instant visibility into the entire IT infrastructure stack networks, servers, applications, storage, and cloud in a single pane of glass, whether physical, virtual, or in the cloud. Headquartered in Santa Barbara, California, LogicMonitor was founded by a team of data center operations experts on a mission to make monitoring powerful and simple. The company is a NetApp, VMware, Dell, HP, and Citrix technology partner. In addition to being recognized as one of the top network monitoring solutions by TechRepublic, LogicMonitor recently received the WebHost Magazine Editors’ Choice Award for comprehensive network monitoring, and received the Best of SaaS Showplace (BoSS) Award for delivering outstanding business value. Capital Internet in Atlanta, Georgia Announces Disaster Recovery Services to Restore Servers and Data Infrastructure Online as Quickly as Possible

Atlanta, GA (PRWEB) November 06, 2012

Companies hit hard by recent weather-related catastrophes are reevaluating the location of their critical data and servers.

Businesses rely on their information systems to run their operations. If a data management system goes down due to flooding, fire or lengthy power outages from storms, blizzards, hurricanes, earthquakes, or other catastrophes, a companys operations could be severely impaired or shut down completely.

It is critical to implement a reliable infrastructure for IT operations to minimize business disruption in the event of a disaster. This might mean moving existing servers to a data center in a geographic location that is less susceptible to natural disasters. A company might also look to outsource data needs if capital is limited and skyrocketing energy costs prohibit in-house data center expansion. Utilizing dedicated servers and virtual private servers (or cloud servers), a data center will provide and set up servers built to your exact specifications and lease them to the company.

Advantages of utilizing a data center, in addition to risk mitigation from natural disasters, also include lower costs and better performance than operating an in-house network. Disaster Recovery Services are available to get servers and data infrastructure back online as quickly as possible.

Hurricane Sandy, a 900-mile-wide superstorm left a devastating path of damage spanning 15 states with sustained hurricane-force winds of 80 mph and 13-foot flood tides, according to the National Hurricane Center.

An estimated 7.5 million people on the eastern seaboard lost power, forcing hundreds of thousands to evacuate as coastal towns were ravaged, transportation disrupted, tons of snow dumped by fierce storms, flooding rains, gale-force winds and fires destroyed homes and claimed over 100 lives. Thousands of homes and businesses are still without power.

The price of the damage from Sandy is epic: between $ 30 billion and $ 50 billion, according to EQECAT, a firm that provides catastrophe risk models for insurance and reinsurance industries. Unfortunately, the damage and disruption may not be over. With more inclement weather expected to hit the same region this week, attention is now focused on a new developing Nor’easter off the Southeast coast affecting the Northeast I-95 corridor, from the Poconos to the Catskills and New England.

Careful planning of your companys IT hardware and data management operations in the event of a natural disaster can be the difference between your business completely shutting down or remaining active in times of a catastrophe like Sandy.

What is a Data Center

A colocation facility, which is also known as a data center, is a facility that provides a safe and secure environment for a companys servers and other computing equipment. The colocation center or data center is equipped with clean, reliable and redundant power and cooling for the equipment.

Data centers often operate more cost-effectively because they serve multiple clients by housing servers from many companies and investing in more energy efficient hardware and technologies to keep equipment running 24/7.

One such company, Capital Internet, located in Atlanta, Georgia is the longest continuously operating data center in Metro Atlanta and has expanded to more than ten times their original data size since the company was founded more than 14 years ago. Unlike other data centers, Capital Internet owns and manages their own fiber optic network throughout the metro Atlanta area, providing better speeds at a great value.

Capital Internet now offers disaster recovery services to enable companies to quickly get their hardware and data up and running after a catastrophe strikes.

Disaster Recovery Services

Backing up and protecting your data is important, but it’s also important to be able to quickly and easily recover that data for your business continuity in the event of a natural disaster. Capital Internet provides clients with an off-site backup and a location with space to get IT systems back up and working in a minimum of time. Capital Internets Backup and Recovery Solution is one of the easiest to use and most robust on the market and includes IT consulting work to help get servers and data infrastructure back online as quickly as possible.

Ease of Use

With Cloud Backup and Recovery Solution, you can significantly reduce the amount of time it takes to recover lost data because it requires minimal user intervention, making it extremely reliable. You no longer have to worry about sick days or forgotten backups.

Affordable

With Capital Internets Cloud Backup and Recovery solution, a company can pay as it grows. You only pay for the amount of data you need to protect in a month, however when you have more data to backup, your solution will grow with you. With Cloud Backup and Recovery, there are none of the fixed costs that you encounter with traditional backup solutions; the only factor that you need to consider is the amount of data you are going to backup.

Data Security

With Cloud Backup and Recovery, your data is fully encrypted from the point it leaves your systems, during data transfer and data storage, for maximum speed and efficiency, saving bandwidth. Capital Internet offers a secure environment in three locations in the country that minimizes any type of security breach and maintains high standards for assuring the integrity and functionality of hosted computer environment, accomplished through redundancy of both fiber optic cables and power, which includes emergency backup power generation. The on-site generator has not yet been needed but is kept maintained, and the uptime is 99.9%.

Colocation

Capital Internets colocation solutions are customized to give you the perfect package; from a single server to a full rack or multiple racks and bandwidth from 1 Mbps to 100 Mbps and beyond. All colocation solutions include at least a 100 Mbps uplink with burstable bandwidth, so you have that extra speed for your busier server times without having to commit to a higher rate.

Capital Internet offers three different types of colocation: traditional colocation, managed colocation, and hybrid colocation. Traditional colocation is the most common platform; your servers are placed in our data center and managed by you and your team. With managed colocation, your servers are hosted in our data center and we manage them for you, acting as part of your IT team. With hybrid colocation, we help you develop a solution that is right for your company and may include multiple types of colocation, as well as dedicated servers and cloud servers. Our focus is on finding the best solution for you.

Colocation offers a number of advantages in time and cost savings. As your business grows, you can add more space as you need it, instead of investing in additional capital expenditures. You also save the time, trouble, and expense of hiring your own staff to operate and maintain your system. Capital Internet delivers lower cost and better performance than operating your network in-house. If you have a need to upgrade and your system is in-house, you will incur additional cost, either by training employees or by bringing-in outside consultants to help.

Dedicated Servers

Dedicated servers are built to your specifications by Capital Internet and leased to you on a 12-month basis. Each dedicated server is used exclusively by you. A dedicated server solution provides you with a dedicated IP address and full control of the server, including root level access. Dedicated servers let you defray the initial costs of new servers. Dedicated servers come with the level of managed hosting that works for you, with our team providing maintenance and upgrades as needed.
