This case study will focus on Emorys HIT evolution with GNAX, creating an HIT Ecosystem that lowers costs, improves application delivery and performance and provides direct access to healthcare applications such as GNAXs new health information exchange.

I am excited to share with my colleagues some of the key technology endeavors we have made recently at Emory, mentioned Emory Healthcare CIO, Dedra Cantrell. State-of-the-Art Pediatric Dental Practice Selects ITG Networks for "Hassle-Free" Healthcare Managed Service Solution.

Wexford, Pennsylvania (PRWEB) February 08, 2012

With this release, ITG Networks is proud to announce its newly forged relationship, providing managed services to Tender Care Pediatric Dentistry (TCPD). With a newly built office, TCPDs approach is fresh, unique, and on the cutting edge of where pediatric dentistry is headed. Pictured is one of the many 3 dimensional animals used in Tender Care’s immersive and custom themed exam rooms. Download the Case Study for more details.

ITG Networks changes the way small and medium businesses (SMB) approach their office technology by offering a true turn-key, managed service solution. By incorporating such offerings as managed services, backup and disaster recovery, virtualization, Droid and iPhone accessible surveillance systems, PBX phone systems, and ITG Network’s patented Waiting Room Wifi, businesses now have a singular point of contact for almost all of their technology needs.

With a unique practice like TCPD, it was crucial to have a unique solution well suited to their operational flow that helped them gain greater efficiencies. After discussing the advantages of utilizing a single company who could design their network, integrate with 3rd party software, manage the entire installation process from start to finish, and support the solution afterwards; Tender Care didn’t have to look any further than ITG. With this type of approach, ITG was able to delve deeper into the day to day operations of TCPD, and work together on a united front to deploy a solution tailored to their business and needs.

Working closely with Tender Cares staff to ensure their opening day timeline; ITG was able to outfit their new office with a Desktop and Server Upgrade, Backup and Disaster Recovery, Dental Software Integration and Update, Server Virtualization, ITG’s Waiting Room Wifi for patients, Structured Cabling, and a Full Function PBX Phone Solution. I needed to have the practice up and running in the new facility and I was pleasantly surprised by ITGs project management and commitment to meet our timeline, says Dr. Beatriz De La Roche. At the core of what ITG has brought to the table is their Managed Services, deemed ITG Network Immunization, for Desktops and Servers. ITGs Network Immunization removed over 1,000 spyware threats in the first month after taking over existing workstations.

The relationship that forged between ITG Networks and Tender Care Pediatric Dentistry is a brilliant fit. Several different companies would typically place the assorted pieces of the technology puzzle together; this can often lead to frustration during install and support phases of any project. ITG Networks has proven to be the point of singularity that merges all processes into a cohesive solution. By relieving the burden of day to day technology hassles, Tender Care Pediatric Dentistry can continue to make the patients their number one priority.

For more information on ITG Networks, the solution outlined above, and Tender Care Pediatric Dentistry, click on the attached PDF Case Study or visit http://www.itgnetworkshealthcare.com and read the featured customer story.

Medical Review Business Process Outsourcing Increasing Among Healthcare Payer Organizations

Portland, OR (PRWEB) June 22, 2012

Among health insurance entities, including health plans, medical management companies and third-party administrators (TPAs), a continuing objective is to reduce costs, improve quality, and meet rigorous accreditation and regulatory compliance standards. This challenge is especially true when it comes to reviewing the medical necessity of service requests, including pre-authorizations as well as member and provider appeals.

AllMed Healthcare Managements recent webinar on physician review business process outsourcing (BPO) provided an excellent example of how payer organizations are increasingly turning to specialty BPO organizations like IROs and delegating medical decision making functions that used to be done by internal medical staff. In presenting this example of BPO innovation, AllMed cited several important reasons why health plans are moving in this direction. In particular, physician review business process outsourcing allows health plans to reduce costs, scale their resources up and down with variable volumes, and allocate their medical directors to higher value-added tasks.

Health plan medical directors are often called upon to review pre-authorization and appeals requests, which reduces the time they can devote to the oversight of quality, compliance and clinical operations functions, said Andrew G. Rowe, CEO of AllMed. Given the compensation levels of these professionals, it makes more sense to outsource routine medical review tasks and redeploy medical directors where their higher-level expertise is of most value to the organization.

Given this shift in thinking about how best to utilize internal medical staff, leading IROs have evolved and can now function as full service business process outsourcing partners for a health plan as it relates to medical decision making. High-performance IROs have developed an integrated portfolio of services that are delivered through web-based technology platforms. The IRO can now reduce and/or balance workloads inside the health plan, lowering costs and improving productivity in ways not possible before, Rowe added.

One such plan that recognizes this is Cambia Health Solutions, which operates BlueCross and/or BlueShield health plans in four western states, serving nearly 2.5 million members. The Regence affiliated companies have fully integrated their IRO (AllMed) into their clinical decision-making operations as a BPO partner. It relies on the company for outsourcing of all physician review functions, including first-level pre-authorizations and specialty-matched appeals.

An outsourcing partner like AllMed is a really good fit for us, said Csaba Mera, MD, Executive Medical Director of Regence BlueCross BlueShield of Oregon. It has a large panel of physicians available for specialty-matched case reviews through a secure web portal, which improves our turnaround time on pre-authorizations and appeals. This gives our medical directors more freedom to focus on higher-level tasks such as medical policy development, provider services support and implementation of required regulatory programs.

But choosing the right IRO partner requires solid due-diligence, Mera would say, confirming that the partner needs to bring together all the cross-functional disciplines and expertise in physician recruiting, credentialing, training, quality assurance and compliance. Further, the full-service IRO should offer a solution that is highly optimized and integrated into the health plans clinical decision-making workflows. In the end, such a solution must be faster, better, and cheaper than what a health plan can develop and maintain on its own, he added.

Rowe outlined the technology capabilities and platform a payer should look for in looking for an IRO to partner with. These include:

GNAX Health, Acuo Technologies and Client Outlook Announce Healthcare IT Alliance

Atlanta, GA (PRWEB) July 25, 2012

GNAX Health, Acuo Technologies and Client Outlook, announced today the formation of a new strategic alliance to provide an integrated and simplified solution for medical image access, exchange and management.

The cloud-based, clinical content management solution delivered through this alliance offers healthcare providers a cost effective way to deploy a best-of-breed solution that includes a vendor neutral archive (VNA) platform, an integrated universal medical image viewer and image exchange strategies that fit the needs of healthcare organizations.

The solution, available through a single contract, combines Acuos Universal Clinical Platform (UCP) with Client Outlooks eUnityTM clinical image visualization, sharing and collaboration toolset, hosted within GNAXs healthcare-focused cloud infrastructure and tier-4 data centers all supported by a cohesive customer support program. This collective offering provides necessary components critical to building a highly secure disaster recovery and business continuity solution for medical imaging without the infrastructure and costs associated with a traditional model. This solution also provides an economical way to store and protect data by freeing up primary local storage, reducing the total amount of storage needed and shifting from a capital intensive local archive to a pay-as-you-go operational service.

GNAX Health is also in the final stages of developing a web-based image exchange service, called SDEX (Secure DICOM Exchange). Integrated into the foundation of Acuos UCP and data structure as well with the Client Outlook viewer, SDEX provides customers with the benefits of a single, best-of-breed exchange solution. It meets the challenge of complicated workflows by integrating with the provider’s employee and patient identification systems to secure access and simplify patient searches. Studies are retrieved from any of the connected PACS, local edge devices or from the cloud archive, making the location of the image transparent to the end user. Providers are able to securely exchange and view images with other GNAX VNA and non-GNAX customers seamlessly, creating a health information exchange (HIE) platform with a workflow for medical imaging.

Acuos UCP simplifies the process of managing clinical content, providing virtualization and normalization of medical images and non-DICOM data, service orchestration, data replication, clinical workflow, compliance and contextual data management services, with a built-in performance management environment and dashboard.

Client Outlooks eUnity product provides a universal viewer that lets health care professionals access, manipulate and collaborate in real-time with diagnostic quality medical images using a web-browser and a mobile application for tablets that enables on-the-go viewing of all image modalities, including X-ray, CT, MRI, color ultrasound and X-Ray angiography.

The integration of these solutions solves a wide range of problems for our healthcare customers, said Jeff Hinkle, chief executive officer for GNAX Health. This offering tightly integrates world-class clinical content viewing, abstraction and life cycle management applications, data migration, cloud-computing and customer support services into a single bundle, greatly simplifying the process of administering enterprise medical image access, exchange and management while reducing IT costs.

All healthcare systems, including hospital networks, university hospitals, community hospitals, physician offices, and other organizations with complex use-case requirements stand to benefit greatly from the interoperability and economies of scale offered by this alliance. The ability to accelerate access to patient information at the point of care along with the collaborative benefits of having an integrated viewing platform improves clinical decision-making, enhances quality of care and speeds up treatment for patients.

Today, healthcare providers and the IT groups that support them face complexities and delays associated with managing multiple sets of clinical data. Departmental image data silos provide integration barriers and make it difficult to be responsive to patient demand, meaningful use requirements and audit demands. Scalability is an ongoing issue as the number and size of medical image files continues to grow at an exponential rate. Ultimately, these problems lead to difficulty in physicians accessing information and collaborating at the point of care.

This offering simplifies and resolves these issues, giving healthcare institutions a shared services approached provided by a trusted partner focused on solving these problems in an integrated and cohesive way. The money organizations can save by easing the process of moving, accessing and managing clinical data with this new approach, said Brenda Rankin, executive vice president and co-founder of Client Outlook, will allow them to put more money toward clinical quality improvements.

This consortium brings an innovative solution based on IHE standards to the marketplace that will disrupt the status quo in healthcare IT, noted Jeff Timbrook, chief executive officer for Acuo Technologies. Weve worked closely with GNAX and Client Outlook to develop an implementation approach that will save our customers significant time and effort. Healthcare organizations can get a complete solution through a single source while lowering their IT expenses with our unique pricing model.

Organizations interested in finding out more about this new solution should contact GNAX Health at 855.280.4629 or health(at)gnax(dot)net.
