aNb Media Joins Winner"s Circle in Microsoft Acqua Contest

Hoboken, New Jersey (Vocus) October 4, 2010

aNb Media, a toy-tester and licensing company with national publications has claimed one of the runner-up spots in Microsofts recent Acqua contest. The contest sought out small businesses that needed a technology make-over. eMazzanti Technologies, the firms IT support consultant, nominated the toy industry publisher for the contest. aNb Media was one of five who took top honors in the overall competition. For more information about the Microsoft Acqua contest and winners, see:

http://www.igniteyoursmallbusiness.com/contests/acqua/Pages/default.aspx?said=10

Our best guess was that we were losing up to $ 200,000 per year in productivity because of a hodge-podge of disparate technologies, noted Jim Silver, editor-in-chief, aNb Media. After two years in business, we needed to re-think and re-do the way we were using computers.

Disparate Technologies Create Productivity Problems

As aNb Media grew to 13 people, the firms network, was a jumble of old and newer computers, mixed operating systems, and different software versions just a few of the problems slowing down aNb Medias work flow. Other technology-related issues such as ineffective firewalls, spam filters, slow internet access and sporadic failure of backup-protection dramatically impeded productivity in and out of the office. The technology problems also flooded employee computers and mobile devices with spam. The end result: IT issues were costing the company hundreds of thousands of dollars annually and hurting their public outreach efforts as well.

New IT Super Hero Sought

Though aNb Media had an existing IT partner, the company was not solving the problems that persisted within the toy publishers operation. It decided to start the search for a new IT super-hero consultant by interviewing three firms, eMazzanti Technologies being one of the candidates. eMazzanti was hired on the spot. We had three reasons to hire eMazzanti: they came highly recommended by their clients, immediately won our trust with their knowledge and talked specific solutions to problems noted, said Silver.

Super Solutions Delivered

eMazzanti Technologies solved spam and email virus problems with its MXINSPECT email protection service, delivered 24×7 support as needed and provided seamless, automatic backup. These services make it easier for aNb Media to maintain its network, protect intellectual property and files as well as collaborate and share information more efficiently.

eMazzantis MXINSPECT email filter solution instantly removed 99 percent of the spam from our network and mobile devices, said Silver. That alone gave us back 13 man-hours a day valued at more than $ 13,000 per month.

eMazzanti also repaired and updated aNb Medias existing tape backup system that had been non-functional for periods of up to 60 days. The companys entire operation is now more secure against catastrophic data loss due to internal or external related disasters. In less than 10 minutes, eMazzanti had sized up our key IT problems and proposed solutions, said Silver. No other IT consultant even came close to grasping our situation and providing real answers to our problems.

About eMazzanti Technologies

With a company name that sounds more like a purebred, high-performance sports car than a IT support and consulting firm, eMazzanti Technologies is all about delivering powerful solutions such as computer network management, network troubleshooting, business continuity and disaster recovery, green computing, mobile workforce technology, information security and business information optimization in the most efficient manner possible. The Hoboken, N.J., firm is located in one of the most densely populated – and competitive – regions in the U.S. It provides business technology consulting services for companies ranging from home offices to multinational corporations throughout the New York metropolitan area and in three countries. ihiji, a Provider of Cloud-Based NMaaS Platforms for Remote Monitoring and Support of IP-Enabled Devices, Joins the Austin Technology Incubator

Austin, Texas (PRWEB) May 09, 2012

The Austin Technology Incubator (ATI), a not-for-profit unit of the IC2 Institute of The University of Texas at Austin, welcomes ihiji to its IT portfolio as a full member company. ihiji, ( hj), is a provider of cloud-based Network Management as a Service (NMaaS) platforms for remote monitoring and support of IP-enabled devices, and has been a part of ATIs Landing Pad Program since 2010.

The Landing Pad Program supports early stage technology companies by leveraging ATIs network and community insight to accelerate that companys acculturation into the Austin business ecosystem. ihiji founders, Stuart Rench, President; Michael Maniscalco, Vice President of Technology; and, David Rench, Vice President of Finance, started a residential design-build home automation company with the idea that home electronic systems could be simplified using better engineering and application of technology. In 2010, after building a successful integration firm in West Palm Beach, Florida, they sold their company to focus solely on ihiji invision, a cutting-edge network management solution, and moved to Austin to be part of ATI. In 2011, the company hired Seth Rubenstein as Director of Sales and Business Development. In 2012, ihiji completed development of a more scalable, flexible and secure architecture and decided to apply the platform into other bigger markets, such as IT markets focused on IT Value Added Resellers (VAR) and corporate IT departments who manage a large number of branch locations. Ready to go on the fundraising circuit, ihiji decided the timing was right to move into full membership at ATI to take advantage of its additional benefits, such as deeper engagement with ATI directors and further access to ATIs established network of peers, mentors, businesses, and investors.

Not only is Texas a great state for businesses, but Austin is on the rise, has a wonderful tech community and is also very livable. The structure of ATI was a good fit for our company and the Landing Pad Program helped us easily relocate from out of state and not miss a beat, said Stuart Rench, President of ihiji; adding that ATI staff has been great. Theyre there when you need them for ideas, thoughts, reviews and introductions. Were also able to take advantage of multiple directors depending on our challenge, which is nice because they each have their own perspectives and areas of expertise.

ihijis new NMaaS platform is based on the same cloud-based architecture as its award-winning remote monitoring and support solution, ihiji invision, and lowers its clients capital and operating expenditures, increases productivity, and improves profit margins by minimizing equipment and network outages.

ihiji is a classic example of a services business successfully morphing into a scalable product company providing enterprise software solutions. ihiji fits perfectly into the sweet spot of Austin’s tech ecosystem and ATI’s IT portfolio. In working with the ihiji team as they transitioned from the Landing Pad Program to a full member company, the team continually impresses with their vision and discipline as they have shifted gears and moved into the next phase of their growth strategy, said Kyle Cox, ATI IT/Wireless Director.

ihijis NMaaS platform is in private beta, and the company is seeking participants from the Small to Medium Businesses (SMB) and/or IT Value Added Resellers (VAR) channels. To learn visit http://itbeta.ihiji.com/, email itbeta(at)ihiji(dot)com, or call 512.538.0520 ext. 2003.

Frances Jaguar Network Joins Arbor Networks Cloud SignalingSM Coalition to Stop the Evolving DDoS Threat to Data Centers

Chelmsford, MA (PRWEB) June 19, 2012

Arbor Networks Inc., a leading provider of security and network management solutions for enterprise and service provider networks, announced today that Jaguar Network, a leading value-added hosting provider in France that operates 30 data centers around the world, has joined Arbors Cloud Signaling Coalition. The Cloud Signaling Coalition (CSC) is an innovative partnership between service providers, datacenter operators and enterprises with the mission to ensure the availability of their network infrastructure and speed time-to-mitigation for distributed denial of service (DDoS) attacks.

Hosting providers like Jaguar Network often have a higher risk of DDoS attack than stand-alone online businesses because hosting providers in effect aggregate the risk of all their customers. An attack on one customer can affect others and potentially the entire hosting operation because of the heavy reliance on shared infrastructure. The overall impact of a DDoS attack is a function of the time it takes to detect the attack, the time needed to mitigate it and the extent of service degradation both before and after mitigation.

“The success of our business begins with the security and availability of the high-end services we offer,” said Kevin Polizzi, CEO of Jaguar Network. By selecting Arbor Networks, our customers know we take the issue of availability seriously. We have chosen the worlds leading DDoS mitigation vendor to protect our network and our customers assets. Participating in Arbors CloudSignaling Coalition is another way to demonstrate our commitment to leading-edge solutions.

World Leader in DDoS Mitigation

Arbor Networks 450 customers include the vast majority of the world’s ISPs and many of the largest enterprise networks in use today. According to a recent report from Infonetics Research titled, DDoS Prevention Appliance Market Outlook, Arbor Networks was cited as the dominant leader for DDoS prevention overall as well as in the Carrier, Enterprise and Mobile market segments.

Arbor Networks, Inc., a leading provider of network security and management solutions for enterprise and service provider networks, announced today that Gen-i, a division of Telecom New Zealand Limited, has joined Arbors Cloud Signaling Coalition. The Cloud Signaling Coalition (CSC) is an innovative partnership between service providers, datacenter operators and enterprises with the mission to ensure the availability of their network infrastructure and speed time-to-mitigation for distributed denial of service (DDoS) attacks.

Gen-i provides a wide range of hosted and integrated ICT solutions to business and government organizations, including business continuity, cloud computing, contact center, collaboration, data center and mobility services. From a security services perspective, Gen-i believes that enterprises must secure the network perimeter in order take control of IT risk management. Gen-i’s Safecom service is a suite of security-focused solutions, providing effective, robust protection for the network perimeter 24 hours a day.

Leanne Buer, Gen-i Head of Networked ICT Products, said, Gen-i is committed to offering our clients ICT solutions that deliver real business outcomes. Our clients expect these services to be available, reliable and secure 24/7. We are pleased to participate in Arbors Cloud Signaling Coalition. Arbor is an important part of our Safecom service and we see the CSC as an important tool that will help us further reduce time-to-mitigation for dynamic threats facing our client networks.

The Cloud Signaling system is efficient and integrated, bridging the customer premise to the service provider cloud. Arbor is bringing its decade of DDoS mitigation experience in ISP networks to the enterprise at a time when availability threats are top of mind for network operators, said Nick Race, Arbor Networks country manager for Australia and New Zealand.

The Cloud Solutions Provider Program provides a blueprint for Google Apps Resellers to follow when building a CSP business by delivering IT services based on their own cloud solutions ecosystem. Backupify represents a best-in-class technology that is integrated with Google Apps that enhances the business value of a Google Apps customer solution while increasing the revenue value of that customer to the reseller. AltDrive Secure Online Backup Joins PepperJam Exchange in Launching a Major Affiliate Program

Seattle, WA (PRWEB) July 09, 2012

AltDrive’s new presence on the PepperJam Exchange allows for web publishers to benefit from AltDrive’s online backup service by displaying images and text links in exchange for revenue sharing when it results in a conversion. AltDrive provides unlimited remote file backup so that recovery is achievable after a disaster. AltDrive’s key competitors are Carbonite, Mozy and Backblaze.

Most people and businesses do not back up their important data regularly or at all. They do not have the time, or its too expensive or complicated. But it happens too often – mistakes, computer viruses, negligence, fire, theft, hardware problems – when files are lost, often they cannot be recovered. With individuals that can mean loss of important documents or priceless photos and videos. For a business, that can mean loss of everything.

AltDrive addresses these backup concerns with a superb and inexpensive offering with many critical design and business features.

AltDrive provides a long free no-obligation trial so that potential customers can fully evaluate whether the service suits their needs. Unlimited remote storage is just $ 3.71 per month (annualized) for Home customers. An inexpensive utility style plan is offered for businesses on a budget. The customer software is dummy-proof and easy to signup, install and administer using wizards.

For information and a pictorial on how AltDrive works, visit: http://altdrive.com/how_it_works.html

AltDrive was designed for the paranoid. It uses a super strong AES-256 CTR mode data encryption cipher with a private key so that even AltDrive personnel cannot view customer’s files – a must for savvy businesses. For convenience, home users can elect to have AltDrive manage the encryption key.

Pepperjam, founded in 1999, operates a next generation performance marketing network, which provides innovative tools and analytics to optimize the complex performance marketing channel.

Software Industry Veteran Tim Buckley Joins Xtium as CEO

King of Prussia, PA (PRWEB) September 07, 2012

Xtium, Inc., a leading enterprise software and solutions company providing managed cloud hosting, online backup and virtual disaster recovery services, today announced the appointment of software industry veteran, Tim Buckley, as chief executive officer and board member.

Buckley spent five years at Red Hat, Inc., where he served as chief operating officer, helping grow the company from a $ 10 million run rate into a leading global services business. Earlier in his career, Buckley ran worldwide sales for Visio Corporation, growing the company from a start-up to a public entity, which was acquired by Microsoft Corp. for $ 1.5 billion. Buckley helped launch other successful start-ups, including Aldus Corporation, acquired by Adobe Systems Incorporated; Approach Software, which was sold to Lotus Corporation; and Decision Resources, sold to Ashton Tate. He was an advisor to MySQL, which was acquired by Sun Microsystems, and served on the board of SmartPath, acquired by DoubleClick. Buckley currently serves on the boards of SciQuest, Inc. (NASDAQ: SQI), ChannelAdvisor and rPath, an app engine provider for the private cloud.

“Cloud computing has created a paradigm shift in the technology marketplace and Xtium is well positioned to capitalize on the resulting market opportunity, said Buckley. The paradigm shift from in-house IT computing to outsourcing to the cloud is similar to the shift I experienced at Red Hat, bringing enterprise open source software to a market that only had proprietary software options. After evaluating the Xtium market opportunity, its recurring services business model and the customer-focused culture, my decision to join was easy.

In September 2011, Xtium secured an $ 11.5 million first-round investment from OpenView Venture Partners to scale sales and marketing, expand the partnership ecosystem and accelerate delivery of the companys flagship virtual private cloud services.

“Tim’s reputation and track record for outstanding leadership and management of high growth software companies is as good as it gets, said Scott Maxwell, founder and senior managing director at OpenView and Xtium board member. It is great to have him on board!”

Xtiums full-service cloud offerings are best fit for companies that want to have a trusted partner architect their cloud solution, perform the migration and manage the infrastructure. With a focus on mid-market enterprises, Xtium offers customers SLA-based services that range from network optimization and online backup to virtual disaster recovery and fully managed hosting.

Since winning its first managed cloud customer in 2007, Xtium has expanded its portfolio of cloud services to include virtual disaster recovery, virtual hosting, virtual desktop infrastructure, smart connectivity and network and user-experience acceleration.

Strong focus will enable us to enhance and expand our customer relationships, further build our team, and develop additional service capabilities that help customers accelerate their hassle-free transition to the cloud,” said Buckley.
