ihiji, a Provider of Cloud-Based NMaaS Platforms for Remote Monitoring and Support of IP-Enabled Devices, Joins the Austin Technology Incubator

Austin, Texas (PRWEB) May 09, 2012

The Austin Technology Incubator (ATI), a not-for-profit unit of the IC2 Institute of The University of Texas at Austin, welcomes ihiji to its IT portfolio as a full member company. ihiji, ( hj), is a provider of cloud-based Network Management as a Service (NMaaS) platforms for remote monitoring and support of IP-enabled devices, and has been a part of ATIs Landing Pad Program since 2010.

The Landing Pad Program supports early stage technology companies by leveraging ATIs network and community insight to accelerate that companys acculturation into the Austin business ecosystem. ihiji founders, Stuart Rench, President; Michael Maniscalco, Vice President of Technology; and, David Rench, Vice President of Finance, started a residential design-build home automation company with the idea that home electronic systems could be simplified using better engineering and application of technology. In 2010, after building a successful integration firm in West Palm Beach, Florida, they sold their company to focus solely on ihiji invision, a cutting-edge network management solution, and moved to Austin to be part of ATI. In 2011, the company hired Seth Rubenstein as Director of Sales and Business Development. In 2012, ihiji completed development of a more scalable, flexible and secure architecture and decided to apply the platform into other bigger markets, such as IT markets focused on IT Value Added Resellers (VAR) and corporate IT departments who manage a large number of branch locations. Ready to go on the fundraising circuit, ihiji decided the timing was right to move into full membership at ATI to take advantage of its additional benefits, such as deeper engagement with ATI directors and further access to ATIs established network of peers, mentors, businesses, and investors.

Not only is Texas a great state for businesses, but Austin is on the rise, has a wonderful tech community and is also very livable. The structure of ATI was a good fit for our company and the Landing Pad Program helped us easily relocate from out of state and not miss a beat, said Stuart Rench, President of ihiji; adding that ATI staff has been great. Theyre there when you need them for ideas, thoughts, reviews and introductions. Were also able to take advantage of multiple directors depending on our challenge, which is nice because they each have their own perspectives and areas of expertise.

ihijis new NMaaS platform is based on the same cloud-based architecture as its award-winning remote monitoring and support solution, ihiji invision, and lowers its clients capital and operating expenditures, increases productivity, and improves profit margins by minimizing equipment and network outages.

ihiji is a classic example of a services business successfully morphing into a scalable product company providing enterprise software solutions. ihiji fits perfectly into the sweet spot of Austin’s tech ecosystem and ATI’s IT portfolio. In working with the ihiji team as they transitioned from the Landing Pad Program to a full member company, the team continually impresses with their vision and discipline as they have shifted gears and moved into the next phase of their growth strategy, said Kyle Cox, ATI IT/Wireless Director.

ihijis NMaaS platform is in private beta, and the company is seeking participants from the Small to Medium Businesses (SMB) and/or IT Value Added Resellers (VAR) channels. To learn visit http://itbeta.ihiji.com/, email itbeta(at)ihiji(dot)com, or call 512.538.0520 ext. 2003.

DynaSis Launches Cloud-Based Productivity Solution for SOHO Market

Roswell, GA (PRWEB) March 30, 2011

DynaSis, Atlanta’s premier provider of IT services and support for small and medium businesses (SMBs), announced today the launch of ITility Essentials, a cloud-based productivity solution for businesses with fewer than 15 employees. ITility Essentials allows small businesses to move their data and applications into the cloud so they can conveniently access them from their desktop, laptop, home or office location – essentially wherever they may choose to perform their work.

“The increased visibility of cloud-based solutions is stimulating demand for the cloud yet many business owners don’t fully understand what they want, what they are getting or what the cloud can do for them,” states Dave Moorman, president of DynaSis. “With ITility Essentials we’re introducing a reliable platform that delivers the information and applications businesses use most: Microsoft Office and Microsoft Exchange plus standard line of business applications.”

ITility Essentials provides increased reliability for the small office/home office (SOHO) business by removing dependence on sometimes temperamental desktop hardware and poorly maintained servers housed in a shared storage closet or basement office. Instead, ITility Essentials is built on a Windows Terminal Services platform to give users access to their applications and data – in the cloud – from a web browser window on any Windows-based device.

ITility Essentials includes 4 hours of monthly helpdesk support. Users call one number for technical support on all of their IT infrastructure if service interruptions or technical complications occur. The SOHO audience also gains enterprise mobility, quality backup and disaster recovery baked right into the solution.

“With ITility Essentials, we’re offering the kind of reliable backup and disaster recovery that is often needed but not secured by the SOHO market,” continues Moorman. “In so doing we’re able to help prevent the SOHO from becoming another statistic of business failure after unrecoverable data loss.”

As Hurricane Season Approaches, Businesses Rely on ilands Cloud-Based Disaster Recovery Solution Using Dell EqualLogic SANs

Houston, TX (PRWEB) May 10, 2011

June 1 marks the beginning of hurricane season 2011. The U.S. is projected to have one of the most active hurricane seasons to date and as a result, businesses are enlisting disaster recovery services to protect business-critical data.

iland, a cloud-computing, infrastructure-as-a-service provider, has delivered a cloud-based disaster recovery solution for vehicle remarketing provider Fleet Lease Disposal, Inc. (FLD) using Dell EqualLogic SANs and VMware virtualization. In preparation for the impending hurricane season, FLD recently conducted a second failover test whereby the total time for replication was cut dramatically.

In FLDs test failover process, iland helped the company determine what components were unique to its infrastructure. For example, FLD learned that certain people within the company would need access to certain controls. IT staff also fine-tuned firewall settings within the infrastructure. Streamlining the process was something that had been addressed in the initial test and consequently, promoted an even faster failover in the subsequent test.

The best part about working on the Dell EqualLogic SANs within the iland cloud environment is that we can conduct failover tests without affecting our production environment. Its one less thing we have to worry about, said Santiago Ramirez, CIO of FLD. Customers didnt notice a difference and the entire process took less than 20 minutes. It was a seamless transition.

iland has established a high level of expertise in using Dell EqualLogic in testing and actual environments. FLD was able to save 3 hours and 28 minutes during its first test failover because of ilands ability to quickly bring the replicated environment online32 minutes, instead of the 4 hours it had previously taken. In the subsequent test, cutover time was cut by an additional 12 minutes. In the case of a disaster, FLDs business-critical data could be accessible in less than a half hour. With Dell EqualLogic SANs as the backbone of ilands Continuity Cloud solution, iland and FLD were able to utilize Dell EqualLogics integrated failback feature to quickly synchronize the Continuity Cloud site back to FLDs production site.

We actually didnt need any modifications to the process when we conducted another test. Everything we needed to know, we learned early on. iland had taken the guesswork out of what we needed to do in case of a disaster. It was a simple and efficient process.

Prior to moving its disaster recovery plan to the cloud, FLD used a backup site in New Jersey that housed 15 physical servers. The software replication solution the company used supported Microsoft SQL Server, Exchange and file services only. All other backups were performed manually at corporate and shipped on USB drives to the New Jersey site every two weeks. This process took two days to prepare and then had to be manually configured when it arrived.

FLD is still saving on its IT budget year over year and benefitting from Dell EqualLogic data replication. Current projections indicate that the company will save $ 320,000 over a three year period. This includes a 90% reduction in New Jersey related staff time, $ 30,000 in software costs, $ 40,000 in internet access costs, over 1,470 man hours and over $ 250,000 in hardware costs by avoiding a technology upgrade and shutting down FLDs remote New Jersey office. The company ultimately has complete control over its virtual environment and failovers can be done from anywhere, including a home office.

ilands EqualLogic-based service allows customers who own Dell EqualLogic SANs to replicate their data to any of its six geographically-dispersed clouds in the United States and United Kingdom. Customers can store a copy of their data off-site or contract out for standby cloud compute resources, guaranteed to be available in case of a disaster.

Aptech Takes Business Intelligence to Next Level with Versatile Cloud-Based System that Adapts to all Mobile Platforms

Pittsburgh, PA (PRWEB) June 20, 2012

Aptech Computer Systems, Inc., the leading provider of hospitality software for business intelligence and enterprise financial accounting, today announced the release of its next- generation, cloud-based business intelligence system for all mobile and desktop formats. Compatible mobile devices include smart phones, tablets, and laptops. Aptech will demonstrate mobile-optimized Execuvue at HITEC 2012 in the Baltimore Convention Center June 25 28. Click here to learn more about Aptechs products and services.

Fingertip access to performance data

Most of our clients have executive teams that travel, and they require access to their companys performance data wherever they are. The new Execuvue release significantly increases the accessibility of our BI solution, said Cam Troutman, vice president and officer at Aptech. With the expanded popularity of mobile devices, especially tablets; reports, analysis, dashboards and more can be provided to anyone within the organization requiring the performance management information on whichever device best suits them wherever they are located. Execuvue leverages the latest IBM/Cognos tools to deliver mobile data to our users, and it is drawing an enthusiastic response.

Execuvue Version 10.1.1 is ideal for traveling hotel executives and adaptable for all wireless platforms from iPad to Android, handheld to tablet. Users gain fingertip access to data for individual properties, divisions, or corporate rollup analysis direct from the cloud. In addition, Execuvues Active Report capability allows users who are disconnected from the system to interact with the reports.

Execuvue delivers mobility and freedom

Two hospitality firmsHighpointe Hotel Corporation and Texas Western Hospitalitywill be incorporating the new mobile flexibility into their management strategies. The companies value the mobile convenience as well as the freedom that comes from Aptech hosting its solution.

For Florida-based Highpointe Hotel Corporation, pushing BI results to executive iPads makes perfect sense. Having iPads will enable our executives and managers to be mobile and still have their finger on the pulse of their properties and divisions to act effectively, said Mark Pate, assistant controller and director of IT for Highpointe. With more performance information in our managers hands, they will be able to respond proactively to changes in their business while events are still unfolding.

Highpointe values Aptech remote hosting and data storage

Highpointes BI system upgrade will also relieve its corporate team from system responsibility and provide greater data security. Aptech will host our new Execuvue BI system at its secure network facility, Pate said. We learned lessons from hurricanes Katrina and Ivan since many of our properties are located on the Gulf of Mexico. Aptech specializes in hosting large multi-property BI implementations with extensive data storage and our information will be safer off property.

An added advantage of the remotely-hosted BI strategy is that Aptech can easily pull operating information from Highpointes Hilton and Marriott properties, as well as from Smith Travel Researchs files, and consolidate it in one place where Execuvue can analyze it. We will develop our own custom report formats that will be clearly defined and based on Highpointes decision criteria, said Pate.

Aptechs hosting service frees Texas Western from system responsibility

Dallas-based Texas Western Hospitality wanted a central, globally-accessed BI data warehouse, but it had not considered where its system would be located. The firm operates 53 Marriott and Hilton full-service and select-service properties in seven states. Until recently, its executives received most property data via email, faxes, and hand-coded Excel spreadsheet reports for managers and owners. With 50+ properties, it was time to automate our processes, said Jim Smith, senior vice president operations for Texas Western Hospitality (TW).

The companys hotel software requirements included automatic downloading of property performance metrics from its Hilton OnQ and Marriott PMSes daily, as well as merging the data with labor numbers, Smith Travel Research output, and a variety of other information from TWs corporate accounting system. We are a hotel company, not a tech shop, so we never thought about the details of a cloud-based system, Smith said. Aptechs offer to host our system at its secure data center in Pittsburgh took all system responsibility off our hands. They handle our data security, backups, and system maintenance so we can run our hotel company.

We use Execuvue to look at the data we always had, but now we sort it by flexible criteria that allow us to see individual data points much faster, Smith added that some TW managers like to review reports on their iPads and he can track operations from his iPhone as needed. My data needs are different every day. It might be specific costs like labor or utilities, or STR comparisons, or other specific line items and expenses. We can easily pull our information into actionable formats that are clearly understandable. Our BI reports are mobile optimized so our executives can monitor performance anywhere.

Aptech Computer Systems

Aptech Computer Systems, Inc., based in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, leads the hospitality industry in leveraging change by valuing human relationships and applying technology to solve business problems for people. The company offers the hotel industry a solid resource of hospitality professionals. Aptech is an IBM Software Value Plus partner.

Incorporated in 1970, Aptech is a hospitality financial and operations technology solutions and service company. Aptechs state-of-the-art back office, business intelligence and enterprise planning products include Profitvue

Anoosmar Technologies Launching Cloud-based Backup Vaultize at INTEROP Mumbai 2011

Mumbai, India (PRWEB) September 27, 2011

As Cloud Computing is emerging as a path-breaking paradigm, India-based start-up Anoosmar Technologies is set to launch an innovative and advanced cloud-based data protection solution Vaultize at INTEROP Mumbai 2011.

Vaultize (http://www.vaultize.com) is the first enterprise-class data protection solution designed from the ground-up specifically for cloud with returns on investment. Vaultize is built to ensure complete and secure protection of files, emails and application databases on laptops, desktops and servers. In addition to secure cloud-based backup and quick disaster recovery, It has advanced features like collaboration between users, synchronization of devices and sharing over web – giving high returns on investment to SMBs, SMEs and large enterprises.

Based on Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) pay-as-you-use model, Vaultize is affordable, simple and easy on books. It can be deployed without incurring any CAPEX in hardware or software, and requires low OPEX. The enterprise-grade protection from all types of disasters and its affordability make Vaultize popular amongst small and medium sized businesses.

Vaultize has been designed with enterprise-class centralized administration, security, availability and robustness. Enterprises can use Vaultize public cloud (hosted on Rackspace), or choose to deploy it in public cloud of their choice, in private cloud or within their data center. Enterprises are primarily finding it useful for backup of executive and mobile workforce laptops.

Anoosmar Technologies is a privately held company from Pune and co-founded by two technopreneurs and IIT graduates Anand Kekre (CEO) and Ankur Panchbudhe (CTO) in 2010. After the public beta announcement Vaultize has attracted a significant interest from across businesses and across verticals. Vaultize already has 35 customers.

“Most cloud-based backup solutions are primarily designed for consumers and their business editions are just extensions to consumer offerings. While others have tried to somehow retrofit their on-premise offerings in cloud ex post facto” – says Anand Kekre – CEO and Co-founder. Anand, who himself holds 52 US patents, previously held technology leadership and executive management positions in industry leading security, data protection and data management companies – IBM, Veritas, Symantec and McAfee. In his 10 years career at Veritas, he culminated as Chief Architect and Technical Director for hugely successful Veritas Volume Manager. Before starting Anoosmar, Anand headed Pune R&D center of McAfee. Anand further adds Cloud-based data protection is one of the fastest growing fields in cloud computing and Vaultize is poised to be become a prominent player in the market world-wide. We are expanding in key markets worldwide through a network of partners.

According to Ankur Panchbudhe Co-founder and CTO, Vaultize comes with unmatched enterprise-grade SLAs for security, reliability, scalability and safety. Smart de-duplication, compression and WAN optimizations provides up to 90% savings in storage and bandwidth. Additionally, disk shipping feature completely eliminates the initial data transfer over the internet. All these significantly reduce the cost particularly attractive to small and medium businesses.

IT-Lifeline Leverages Amazon Web Services to Offer Next Generation Cloud-Based IT Disaster Recovery Service to Mid-Sized Enterprises at Significant Cost Savings

Interop IT Conference and Expo New York, New York (PRWEB) October 06, 2011

Todays legacy approach to disaster recovery usually involves purchasing equipment directly or paying for capacity from a managed service provider which is only used for periodic testing and almost never used for a real emergency. Cloud based disaster recovery offers customers the ability to pay for disaster recovery capacity only when required. As the first company to offer disaster recovery for the cloud generation, IT-Lifeline is leveraging scalable cloud infrastructure from Amazon Web Services (AWS) with market-leading CommVault

ClearDATA Partners with Comport Consulting for Cloud-based Medical Image Storage and Archiving

Phoenix, AZ (PRWEB) February 01, 2012

ClearDATA Networks, Inc., the fastest-growing provider of cloud computing services for the healthcare industry, has partnered with Comport Consulting Corp., a leading provider of data management and infrastructure solutions for healthcare providers, to deliver Medical Image Storage and Archiving solutions utilizing ClearDATAs healthcare cloud platform.

Because of the increasing amounts of data created by medical imaging, hospital CIOs face significant challenges managing their PACs and clinical data storage infrastructure with predictable cost efficiency. ClearDATA Medical Image Storage and Archive provides an economical, vendor neutral alternative to perpetually purchasing local hard drives by providing the right amount of storage at any given time. The hospital only pays for what they use. said Brian Mitchell, VP Sales of ClearDATA. The ClearDATA cloud network is 100% HIPAA compliant and manages data security at NIST standards, giving the client complete confidence that their data is in a facility that minimizes the risk of breach.

ClearDATA provides a highly secure, HIPAA Compliant cloud computing and storage platform designed exclusively for the healthcare industry. ClearDATAs Medical Image Storage and Archiving solution is vendor neutral and works with the same technology that Comport uses to deliver Acuo Technologies

PhantomLink Launches Free Cloud-Based Alarm Monitoring and Notification Services

Albuquerque, NM (PRWEB) August 29, 2012

Just last month, Phantom Data Services, LLC announced the release of its PhantomLink security monitoring device as an open-source project. Continuing that trend, Phantom Data Services is now pleased to announce the launch of a free cloud-based alarm self-monitoring service to provide do-it-yourself alarm installers with the ability to monitor their systems over the web, and receive automatic email and text message notifications for no charge. The service is designed to work not only with PhantomLink devices, but also other custom electronic security systems built by do-it-yourselfers and electronics hobbyists. Services include a web-based dashboard for logging and reviewing alarm statistics, automated email and text message notifications triggered by specific alarm events, and a portal for linking to real-time webcam video streams.

“Nearly 80% of households in the U.S. have internet access,” says Adam Peters, PhantomLink.com’s founder. “So why are people still paying their hard-earned money to a central station to monitor their alarm? Just connect it to the internet and monitor it yourself! My goal for PhantomLink is to help as many people as possible break away from their expensive service contracts, save money, and get real value out of their security systems.”

Although several self-monitored alarm products already exist, most are email-based or hosted on a local server. However, PhantomLink’s cloud-based approach delivers several benefits, including (1) multiple data delivery methods (not just email), (2) fewer firewall and routing issues, (3) continual monitoring of network connection health, (4) off-site data logging, (5) more intelligent event processing and triggering, (6) integrated display and visualization tools (including webcam video), (7) an online management interface, (8) the ability to expand features and capabilities as more cloud technologies become available, (9) an open-source design that invites customization and enhancement, and (10) no-cost notification services.

Do-it-yourself alarm installers and electronics hobbyists can find free circuit schematics, source code, interface specifications, and instructions on the PhantomLink.com DIY page.

PhantomLink.com provides do-it-yourself remote security monitoring solutions. PhantomLink.com was developed by and is operated by Phantom Data Services, LLC, a New Mexico limited liability company specializing in website development services. BeTravelSAFE Launches its Cloud-Based Online Travel Wallet for Travellers to Back Up and Safeguard Essential Travel Details

London (PRWEB UK) 27 September 2012

BeTravelSAFE (http://www.BeTravelSAFE.com) today announced the launch of its new Online Travel Wallet for travellers, an initiative to help travellers back up and securely store personal and business travel documents in case of an emergency. The platform allows travellers to store information related to travel reservations, finance, insurance and other personal documents in their own safe, secure, hosted server environment which can be accessed on the move. BeTravelSAFE is owned by Depositit, a leader in business continuity solutions including enterprise data backup and an innovator in cloud storage in the UK since 1999.

Losing or misplacing key personal and travel documents is both a massive inconvenience and a logistical interruption. Over 350,000 passports are renewed every year in the UK alone, according to the Identity and Passport Service (IPS). In the United States, the State Department reported 253,037 lost American passports and 60,984 stolen worldwide in the last fiscal year. Add to that the millions of lost, stolen and cloned credit cards, licenses and mobile phones to clearly see why backing up records is important.

This is the safest and most convenient online backup solution travellers can use, said Anthony Ryb, Founder and Director at BeTravelSAFE. All data is encrypted ensuring complete privacy for everything stored with us, and we are also using the secure compliant infrastructure developed by Depositit in order to further encrypt and back up the information in two separate, commercially independent data centres.

BeTravelSAFE is free of charge and available for both corporate and leisure travellers. Users can upload or input a variety of personal data:

Personal: passport, identity cards, driving license, travel visa, medical/optical prescriptions.
Reservation and Loyalty information: airline tickets; dining, entertainment and sports reservations; car rental and access to Online Travel Agencies.
Banking: credit card helplines, bank account information, online banking and insurance policies.
Communications: mobile handset details, emergency contact numbers and documents.

Whether lost, stolen or to simply access some details, there is now a way to easily retrieve your vital travel information anytime, added Anthony Ryb. “BeTravelSAFE allows travellers to keep their details safe by offering secure online storage that can be accessed from any device, anywhere in the world. This means they can focus on a worry free vacation or business trip.

BeTravelSAFE can be fully integrated into insurance policies, rebranded, white labeled or sold as a stand along solution.
