Backup My Info! Enhances Premium Service Offerings with "Plug-and-Play" Storage Devices for Emergency Data Restores at No Cost

New York, NY (PRWEB) November 30, 2010

Backup My Info! (BUMI), the premier provider of managed online backup and recovery solutions for small to mid-sized businesses, today announced a service offering aimed at making it easy for customers to restore their data after a catastrophic system failure. BUMI offers “plug-and-play” storage devices loaded with clients’ encrypted data that can be shipped overnight in order to accelerate the process of restoring. This service, available at no additional cost, can be utilized when an Internet connection is not available or the physical server or location is no longer available.

During a typical data restore, BUMI engineers guide clients through the process which includes retrieving the encrypted data from its data center in Canada through BUMI’s software application. If a large amount of data needs to be immediately restored, BUMI can ship this data overnight in an encrypted and compressed format on a USB storage device which can then be restored rapidly at no charge to the client. Many competitors charge a very large fee for similar offerings. Once the data is shipped to the customer site, BUMI senior engineers remotely connect to assist with recovery procedures.

“During an emergency restore where systems are down and – in certain cases – technology infrastructure may be lost or damaged, the last thing you need to worry about is data loss and business continuity issues,” explained Jennifer Walzer, CEO at Backup My Info!, Inc. “Our all-inclusive service, which consists of shipping a pre-loaded, encrypted storage device to the customer, is part of our mantra to deliver the best service and support – especially after a major system failure or outage.”

“Data backup is essential for any organization – however, restorability provides a true barometer for success,” explained David A. Chapa, Senior Analyst at Enterprise Strategy Group, Inc. “It is imperative organizations evaluate their providers ensuring they offer a complete and proven strategy for data restores – not just backup.”

With data protection and reliability a prime concern for all organizations, BUMI has built several layers of security into its online backup solution. Data is encrypted before it leaves a customer site and remains encrypted at all times. Additionally, BUMI’s senior engineers continuously monitor backup processes to ensure customer data is properly safeguarded and proactively follow up if they identify any errors or problems. From a disaster recovery and business continuity perspective, all off-site backups are stored in SAS70 Type II data centers located in Canada.

Abacus Solutions Updates Business Continuity Services Offerings

Marietta, GA (PRWEB) October 24, 2011

Abacus Solutions, an IT infrastructure solutions provider, have recently updated their business continuity services offerings. Abacus works to create solution and service packages that are relevant to customers and IT industry professionals, so they are continuously modifying their packages to best fit customer needs.

Abacus has worked with IT engineers to build a range of packages that best meet the requirements of our customers. These packages meet the basic needs of our customers and then are fully customized to fulfill specific Recovery Point Objectives (RPO) and Recovery Time Objectives (RTO). Packages can also be customized to fit within a specific price point.

A key feature of Abacuss business continuity services is 100% coverage. This differs from other plans that only offer best efforts to get their customers back up and running. This means that in a disaster, if other customers are also down, response times may be delayed as the partner helps the other customer. Abacus has the resources to ensure that your issue will be responded to immediately. They also have a dedicated 800 number and email address for one point of contact.

We understand that in a disaster, things get chaotic, and customers need a reliable partner that they can turn to, said Patrick Schutz, Abacus Partner and Vice President of Services. Thats why Abacus can be such an excellent resource. We develop and test plans before an actual disaster occurs. That way we know exactly what to do and what we will deliver before the customer ever faces an issue.

Abacus offers four basic recovery packages. The first package offers a fully outsourced solution with no downtime. This plan includes all dedicated hardware, as well as Abacus managed services where Abacus houses and manages the hardware in their secure data center.

The second recovery package offers an online Vault system for backing up and storing computer files. Data is stored offsite, eliminating the need for tape. Abacus can then recover data remotely in less than 12 hours. The third package is tape based, where the customer sends Abacus their most recent data and Abacus will load the tape and open up for remote recovery within 24 hours. In the fourth package, Abacus will deliver a like or better hardware system to the customers preferred location for them to recover themselves within 48 hours.

Business continuity services are a core competency at Abacus Solutions. To learn more, visit abacusllc.com.

Liquidware Labs Extends Flagship Stratusphere Product Line with Two New Offerings to be Shown At VMworld 2012

San Francisco, CA (PRWEB) August 28, 2012

Liquidware Labs, the leader in desktop transformation solutions, announced it will demo two new offerings at its Booth #2536 at VMworld 2012. Stratusphere IXD, (Interactive Designer) is an automated image, host, and storage design solution for virtual desktop infrastructures, and Stratusphere Adapter is a specialized desktop metrics feed into VMware vCenter Operations for single pane-of-glass monitoring across the entire desktop environment.

Stratusphere IXD: Interactive Designer for Image, Host and Storage

Liquidware Labs Stratusphere IXD enables virtualization architects to automate the design of corporate desktop gold master images, and size hosts and storage architectures for next generation virtual desktops. Stratusphere IXD leverages assessment data collected by Stratusphere FIT, Liquidware Labs award winning, industry-leading assessment solution. The solution also simplifies the creation of shared images and resource pools for virtual and physical server farms or cloud-hosted infrastructures. Stratusphere IXD is planned to be generally available in fall 2012.

Stratusphere IXD automates the process of designing key virtual desktop environment components with a very high level of accuracy. Designs are based on actual observed usage patterns which are then applied to the best one-to-many shared-image pooled strategy, said Jason Mattox, CTO of Liquidware Labs. Using precise image, host and storage designs right at the start prevents the cost overruns, poor performance and capacity constraints that can stall View desktop projects and have negative impacts on end users.

Stratusphere IXD supports iterative design by allowing an architect to apply many different factors and criteria to real-world usage and consumption data, and observe the resulting changes in infrastructure capacity, overall cost and performance requirements.

At PQR, we are at the forefront of evaluating new technologies that come on the market so we may provide educated guidance to our customers for products that provide genuine value to them, said Ruben Spruijt, thought-leader and CTO at PQR, a major systems integrator based in the Netherlands. I would say that anyone who is planning a move to virtual desktops needs to consider this solution to enable them to capitalize on shared-image strategies and resource pools to gain the most cost-effective and efficient approach to deliver desktops.

Stratusphere Adapter: Single Pane of Glass Monitoring with VMware vCenter Operations

Stratusphere Adapter allows an integration feed for Stratusphere FIT desktop assessment metrics and Stratusphere UX user experience metrics into VMware vCenter Operations. Administrators can get an excellent granular view of users desktop experience in a single pane of glass delivered from custom dashboards that they can create without implementing costly and complex BI layers. The Stratusphere Adapter integration feed is available currently through a Liquidware Labs JumpStart services engagement.

Stratusphere Adapter simplifies the process of populating data into vCenter Operations by leveraging VDI FIT and VDI UX Composite Scores, which compile a range of key indicators into a single score indicating Good / Fair / Poor desktop performance. Only Liquidware Labs Stratusphere offerings provide unique granular time- and consumption-based metrics about users and applications running inside the guest, including Application Launch Time, Application Response Time, Application Not Responding, Login Delay, Network Latency, Failed Network Connections, Disk IOPS and Queues, CPU Usage and Queues and Memory and Page File Usage. With Stratusphere Adapter, datacenter and desktop administrators can track their entire environment of Windows
