Atlanta, GA (Vocus/PRWEB) April 14, 2011

GNAX extended its ability to offer healthcare providers direct connection to its Healthcare IT Ecosystem through Level 3 Communications, Inc. Level 3 extended its network infrastructure in Georgia with the construction of a full network point of presence and fiber node at Global Net Access’s (GNAX) AtlantaNAP Data Center, the main healthcare IT hub in Georgia. GNAX hosts a range of healthcare customers, including two of Georgia’s largest hospital systems.

GNAX/AtlantaNAP is one of the largest healthcare data centers in Georgia, recently announcing a health information exchange (HIE) that is free all healthcare providers. Additionally, the direct connection to Level 3′s advanced IP network offers a majority of Georgia healthcare providers access to regional, scalable solutions capable of meeting the increasing industry need for more efficient communications services.

“Our customers demand network access and solutions that are capable of meeting their ever-rising need for swift and secure data redundancy,” said Jeff Hinkle, President and Chief Operating Officer for GNAX. “Directly connecting our facility to Level 3′s network brings innovative ways to allow customers to access our HIT Ecosystem efficiently and cost effectively, and underscores our dedication to offering our customers the best solutions possible for network access and advanced communications services.”

The key is to get connected first, continued Mr. Hinkle. Once you are connected into this ecosystem from a network perspective, you have direct access to a multitude of healthcare technology services, not only from GNAX but from our partners and other healthcare technology providers who we service in our data center as well.

According to the June 2010 Cisco, Visual Networking Index, recent industry estimates show that healthcare data is more than quadrupling every two years, and Level 3′s high-capacity backbone network and targeted services are well-equipped to manage this increasingly dramatic rise. Level 3 offers a variety of network solutions designed to meet the growing communications needs of the healthcare industry, including strategic planning for future network requirements, managed and efficient storage solutions, disaster recovery capabilities, and optimized network planning to improve organizational efficiencies.

Aptech Takes Business Intelligence to Next Level with Versatile Cloud-Based System that Adapts to all Mobile Platforms

Pittsburgh, PA (PRWEB) June 20, 2012

Aptech Computer Systems, Inc., the leading provider of hospitality software for business intelligence and enterprise financial accounting, today announced the release of its next- generation, cloud-based business intelligence system for all mobile and desktop formats. Compatible mobile devices include smart phones, tablets, and laptops. Aptech will demonstrate mobile-optimized Execuvue at HITEC 2012 in the Baltimore Convention Center June 25 28. Click here to learn more about Aptechs products and services.

Fingertip access to performance data

Most of our clients have executive teams that travel, and they require access to their companys performance data wherever they are. The new Execuvue release significantly increases the accessibility of our BI solution, said Cam Troutman, vice president and officer at Aptech. With the expanded popularity of mobile devices, especially tablets; reports, analysis, dashboards and more can be provided to anyone within the organization requiring the performance management information on whichever device best suits them wherever they are located. Execuvue leverages the latest IBM/Cognos tools to deliver mobile data to our users, and it is drawing an enthusiastic response.

Execuvue Version 10.1.1 is ideal for traveling hotel executives and adaptable for all wireless platforms from iPad to Android, handheld to tablet. Users gain fingertip access to data for individual properties, divisions, or corporate rollup analysis direct from the cloud. In addition, Execuvues Active Report capability allows users who are disconnected from the system to interact with the reports.

Execuvue delivers mobility and freedom

Two hospitality firmsHighpointe Hotel Corporation and Texas Western Hospitalitywill be incorporating the new mobile flexibility into their management strategies. The companies value the mobile convenience as well as the freedom that comes from Aptech hosting its solution.

For Florida-based Highpointe Hotel Corporation, pushing BI results to executive iPads makes perfect sense. Having iPads will enable our executives and managers to be mobile and still have their finger on the pulse of their properties and divisions to act effectively, said Mark Pate, assistant controller and director of IT for Highpointe. With more performance information in our managers hands, they will be able to respond proactively to changes in their business while events are still unfolding.

Highpointe values Aptech remote hosting and data storage

Highpointes BI system upgrade will also relieve its corporate team from system responsibility and provide greater data security. Aptech will host our new Execuvue BI system at its secure network facility, Pate said. We learned lessons from hurricanes Katrina and Ivan since many of our properties are located on the Gulf of Mexico. Aptech specializes in hosting large multi-property BI implementations with extensive data storage and our information will be safer off property.

An added advantage of the remotely-hosted BI strategy is that Aptech can easily pull operating information from Highpointes Hilton and Marriott properties, as well as from Smith Travel Researchs files, and consolidate it in one place where Execuvue can analyze it. We will develop our own custom report formats that will be clearly defined and based on Highpointes decision criteria, said Pate.

Aptechs hosting service frees Texas Western from system responsibility

Dallas-based Texas Western Hospitality wanted a central, globally-accessed BI data warehouse, but it had not considered where its system would be located. The firm operates 53 Marriott and Hilton full-service and select-service properties in seven states. Until recently, its executives received most property data via email, faxes, and hand-coded Excel spreadsheet reports for managers and owners. With 50+ properties, it was time to automate our processes, said Jim Smith, senior vice president operations for Texas Western Hospitality (TW).

The companys hotel software requirements included automatic downloading of property performance metrics from its Hilton OnQ and Marriott PMSes daily, as well as merging the data with labor numbers, Smith Travel Research output, and a variety of other information from TWs corporate accounting system. We are a hotel company, not a tech shop, so we never thought about the details of a cloud-based system, Smith said. Aptechs offer to host our system at its secure data center in Pittsburgh took all system responsibility off our hands. They handle our data security, backups, and system maintenance so we can run our hotel company.

We use Execuvue to look at the data we always had, but now we sort it by flexible criteria that allow us to see individual data points much faster, Smith added that some TW managers like to review reports on their iPads and he can track operations from his iPhone as needed. My data needs are different every day. It might be specific costs like labor or utilities, or STR comparisons, or other specific line items and expenses. We can easily pull our information into actionable formats that are clearly understandable. Our BI reports are mobile optimized so our executives can monitor performance anywhere.

Aptech Computer Systems

Aptech Computer Systems, Inc., based in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, leads the hospitality industry in leveraging change by valuing human relationships and applying technology to solve business problems for people. The company offers the hotel industry a solid resource of hospitality professionals. Aptech is an IBM Software Value Plus partner.

Level Platforms and Symantec Provide Security Endpoint for Managed Services Providers

Ottawa, Canada and Mountain View, CA (PRWEB) July 10, 2012

Level Platforms today introduced its second advanced integration with the release of the new Symantec Endpoint Protection Service Module, which allows managed services providers (MSPs) to deliver efficient service for end-customers by monitoring, managing and troubleshooting their clients endpoint security infrastructure using Level Platforms remote monitoring and management (RMM) MSP platform.

MSPs face a daily stream of information about their clients IT infrastructure that they need to prioritize and react to in real time, said Gordon Rielly, CTO of Level Platforms. We designed our Service Module architecture to ensure that vital information from critical tools, such as Symantec Endpoint Protection (http://bit.ly/P4xx8g), one of the fastest and most effective endpoint protection solutions, is presented to the MSP within their regular workflow in Managed Workplace (http://bit.ly/M5byy1). Compared to competing approaches, our collaboratively designed Symantec Endpoint Protection Service Module delivers a fully integrated solution with complete alerting capabilities, customizable reporting, simple installation and integrated workflows.

Easy access, simple installation, complete reporting

With the Symantec Endpoint Protection Service Module, MSPs can easily access up-to-date information on the health of all of their customers endpoint protection deployments from a single Managed Workplace dashboard. This includes the current status of endpoints, detailed license information and the status of signatures and updates ensuring that all customer endpoints are fully secured at all times. The Symantec Endpoint Protection Service Module also monitors key operating parameters and actively alerts the MSP through the central dashboard as issues arise.

To speed installation time, the Symantec Endpoint Protection Service Module installs with a few clicks and requires no additional configuration or setup. The Service Module immediately begins monitoring the overall health of all endpoints managed by Symantec Endpoint Protection and displays all vital information on both at risk and normal endpoints in a single display. Customizable reports detailing overall endpoint protection system health, endpoint client version, definition and protection status and a licensing summary are all included in the Service Module, allowing MSPs to provide a complete, detailed view of their network to their end-customers.

“The comprehensive integration between Level Platforms and Symantec technologies provides immediate benefits for our customers and our business,” said Luis Alvarez, President and CEO of Alvarez Technology Group Inc. “From a single Managed Workplace dashboard, we now have even deeper visibility into the health and status of our customers’ entire network. This has helped us significantly reduce the time required to identify and resolve issues. In addition, customizable reporting tools delivered by Level Platforms now let us easily provide our clients with a detailed view of their network, and help position us as their trusted IT service provider. The integrated solution from Level Platforms and Symantec delivers a new level of automation, responsiveness and insight that is key as we continue to grow our MSP business.”

Long-standing relationship

Level Platforms and Symantec worked closely together to identify the monitoring and management interfaces that need to be exposed to help optimize the management experience for MSPs. The culmination of these efforts includes the Symantec Endpoint Protection 12.1 MP 1 release and the Symantec Endpoint Protection Service Module. Previously, Level Platforms and Symantec introduced the popular Symantec Backup Exec Service Module.

Level Platforms was among the first to enable our Symantec Endpoint Protection and Backup Exec products at a meaningful level, including reporting, monitoring and alerting, and they continue to set a high standard in terms of ease of use and depth of integrated functionality, said Stephen Banbury, Vice President, Channel and Alliance Marketing, SMB and .cloud, Symantec. Level Platforms partnership with Symantec allows MSPs to deliver Symantecs security and recovery solutions as services to their customers, enabling them to take advantage of the MSP opportunity.

Available now

The Symantec Endpoint Protection Service Module is now available for Level Platforms Partners. Log in to the Partner Portal (http://www.levelplatforms.com/LPIPortal/) for details. The Service Module requires the latest Symantec Endpoint Protection 12.1 MP 1 build.

Nanotek Consulting Corp. Announces Top Level Disaster Recovery Solutions

Toronto, ON (PRWEB) December 05, 2011

Nanotek Consulting Corp. is now providing first rate contingency planning that will enable businesses to consolidate resources, save man hours, reduce energy costs by eliminating extraneous hardware, and empower companies to have greater oversight in their technical issues.

Recently, one of their clients had servers that were approaching a critical state. Before they came to Nanotek, other IT firms had told them that they should virtualize and consolidate their data into a new server. The client, a highly trafficked web property, could not afford the eight hours or more of downtime that they were initially quoted to move to a new server. Nanotek, on the other hand, implemented a unique solution: a physical to virtual conversion on the live server. The task was completed and running before the meeting was even over – without any downtime.

At Nanotek we deploy a multi layered approach to your backup and Disaster Recovery Plan designed to meet all budgets and all contingencies, says Harsh Pabla, CTO of Nanotek. First and foremost, critical servers, files, and databases are backed up locally every hour throughout the day so that in the event of data loss, restore points are usually no more than an hour old.

Since being established 18 years ago in Toronto, Nanotek Consulting Corp. has positioned itself as a distinctive choice amongst IT consulting firms that focus on disaster recovery services. The IT consulting firm continues to garner a reputation for superior customer service by consistently making their customers feel at ease, regardless of their technical knowledge.

As an IT consulting firm, Nanotek provides value to its customers by offering a range of services that include: cloud computing, off-site data protection, network security analysis, and disaster recovery management, amongst other things. The company has leveraged its expertise and team of professionals to provide solutions to problems that competing firms qualified as intractable.

Nanoteks ability to control and implement solutions to critical IT problems was put to the test at another time when approached by a local real estate association. The client was having their roof repaired, but an unfinished job left open areas where rain leaked in and onto their servers, cables and routers. Nanotek quickly assessed the situation, isolated damaged areas, and replaced equipment within a just few hours.

Knowledge is important in this industry but combined with a dynamic, mobile team, strong vendor partnerships, and the commitment to deliver top level solutions, you become an unequalled end-to-end solution provider, says Pabla. This holistic approach to servicing their customers is what has made Nanotek an unparalleled leader and a trusted source of technical knowledge.

For any business the margins can be thin, so the need to operate in a financially efficient manner is imperative to their survival. One of the major competitive advantages that Nanotek brings to their clients is the ability to cut ineffective spending. Reducing energy consumption by consolidating servers and using cloud computing as a replacement to expensive hardware are just two of the ways they save their clients money. Regardless of the cost associated with updating aging infrastructure, it is unquestionably less than losing business and valuable corporate information as a result of a crashed server.

Please visit Nanotek.ca for more details about our disaster recovers solutions and a compehensive list of other IT products and services we offer.

Level Platforms Auto-Monitoring Accelerates MSP Sales and Slashes Operational Costs

Ottawa, Ontario (PRWEB) October 16, 2012

Level Platforms today introduced a new era of IT management for managed service providers (MSPs) with the release of On Premise and Cloud Editions of its Managed Workplace 2012 R2 remote monitoring and management (RMM) platform. New features, including automatic device monitoring and persistent state management help MSPs streamline and automate key processes to better engage with prospects, deliver higher quality services to existing clients and save time on lower level activities to focus staff on new revenue opportunities.

Auto-Monitoring includes important new architectural features with significant implications for MSPs. Policy Sets define customized packages of standard monitoring rules, which combined with Auto- Grouping allow MSPs to create new ways to standardize and automate operations, eliminate time-consuming tasks and provide differentiated services for end-customers including isolating unique monitoring for high-end and older devices, and much more. Persistent State Management addresses one of the biggest problems in IT management for MSPs network security compliance by leveraging automatic monitoring and grouping functionality to implement an automatic configuration verification model to enforce company policies for end-clients.

These major advances in IT monitoring help streamline and scale an MSPs entire business by eliminating time-consuming administrative tasks during customer acquisition and onboarding and simplifying service delivery and expansion processes.

Managed Workplace 2012 R2 saves us time and expense by significantly speeding up our customer onboarding process while giving us complete confidence that each customer site is being monitored to the fullest, said Andy Hanley, Head of Remote Monitoring with Blue Chip Data Systems, a large MSP headquartered in Poole, UK. With new smart policy modules and auto-grouping features, we can now automatically monitor all devices at a customer site in as little as 30 minutes. Alongside these time-saving capabilities, the ability to configure multiple policy sets for different levels of monitoring or to exclude specific devices gives us the flexibility necessary to meet various service level requirements across our customer base.

Advanced automation for prospects and clients

Level Platforms Network Audits are widely recognized as the single most powerful customer acquisition tool available today for MSPs. New Network Audit Policy Sets preconfigured in Managed Workplace collect all the data required to deliver deeply insightful reports that identify problems and opportunities across the entire customer infrastructure to help MSPs propose solutions to close the sale.

After the sale Managed Workplace then shifts from Network Audit to provide comprehensive environment-wide monitoring and management. New customers are on-boarded in minutes with a single software install providing the specific customized policies for the appropriate class of service. And as new devices are deployed on the customer site they are automatically discovered, provisioned and brought under full management according to pre-configured rules without intervention by the MSP.

For the entire IT environment under management, Managed Workplace Persistent State Management maintains and enforces configuration regardless of external environmental changes. MSPs can now easily automate processes to remove blacklisted applications and overturn undesired configuration policies to help enforce security compliance and deliver higher service level consistency for their end customers. For example, many MSPs standardize and deploy antivirus and antimalware solutions across their customer base. If an end-user accidently removes security features from their system, Managed Workplace detects and automatically redeploys the MSPs preconfigured solutions to protect the end-users device and customer network.

Additional new features in Managed Workplace 2012 R2 include alert functionality when devices are discovered after an initial network scan, an Update Center to provide easy access to product updates, MW Wire to notify users of important news related to Managed Workplace right from the Service Center dashboard, next-generation Service Modules and more.

Managed Workplace 2012 R2 solidifies our position as technology leader in the RMM market, with new features that ease configuration, dramatically speed onboarding and enable new levels of integration to significantly broaden the capabilities of our MSP platform, said Peter Sandiford, CEO Level Platforms. With our comprehensive RMM platform, Managed Workplace, MSPs can automate operations, lower operating costs and deliver high-quality services to extend and enhance their offering and grow their business by managing the full range of end customer technology including workstations, servers, networking, imaging, VoIP, mobile devices and cloud.
