A&I Solutions would like to announce the Employee of the Week, Brad Watson - Brad is a Solutions Architect on the A&I Service Assurance Team

(PRWEB) June 06, 2012

As a solutions architect, Brad enjoys helping companies identify bottlenecks and common problematic components. He also likes providing adaptive solutions that help clients use APM effectively in their specific environments.

Brad explains, I enjoy hearing what problems clients are constantly facing and helping them identify the source of those problems to create a workable solution. Rather than coming in and trying to push a certain agenda or preferred approach for an APM configuration, I like to work with the client and try to provide them a solution that is desirable to them and doesnt require any policy changes or heartache.

He specializes in Introscope dashboarding and Scripting. These two tasks involve application diagram dashboarding, server specific dashboarding, high-level overview dashboarding, Bash and Perl scripting for Introscope shell actions and automated reporting, and EPAgent scripting via Perl or Java programs.

New to the team, Brad has worked with two major clients, CapGemini and GE Capital.

Success Story:

While working as an APM administrator at Duke Energy, Brad wrote a program to replicate Introscope management modules to other servers and environments. This program was used to automate management module creation across hundreds of application servers at Duke Energy, which saved the APM team hours of manual, error-prone work. The program has since been refined, packaged into the APM Toolkit that A&I is developing internally. It has greatly aided in the dashboarding, metric grouping, and alert creating processes at current client sites. In addition to this, other architects within the A&I Service Assurance Team have used the tool during deployments for their own clients.

Innovation Working Group and mHealth Alliance Announce 2012 Grant Winners

New York, NY (PRWEB) September 25, 2012

The Innovation Working Group (IWG) and mHealth Alliance announced the eight 2012 winners of catalytic grants today at a luncheon event held in support of Every Woman Every Child. The IWG mHealth catalytic grant mechanism, funded by the Norwegian Agency for Development Cooperation (Norad) and implemented in partnership with the World Health Organization (WHO), supports innovative uses of mobile technology to advance maternal and child health, with a focus on expanding programs to wide-scale implementation.

The power of innovation in mobile technology can only be fully utilized if success factors are identified and evidence is widely shared and utilized, said Helga Fogstad, Head of Global Health in Norad. The catalytic funding mechanism is intended to do just that. Taking to scale these innovations will improve provision, access, quality or use of highly needed maternal and child health services, which will help to reach MDGs 4 and 5.

The competitive grants provide targeted technical assistance for critical, yet challenging, areas in the scale-up process, including objectives related to generating evidence appropriate for a variety of stakeholders, building partnerships, and developing sustainable business models. Throughout each two-year grant period, the mHealth Alliance and the WHO provide opportunities for collaborative learning among the grantees in their pursuit of health impact, financial sustainability, and scale.

These catalytic grants have already advanced the progress of last years winners, said Patricia Mechael, executive director of the mHealth Alliance. There are many innovative ideas in the mHealth field, but rarely are the implementers able to scale up these solutions to have an impact. These grants will not only allow the grantees to scale up, but they will also provide others in the mHealth space the opportunity to learn from grantees experience and findings, adding to broader efforts to strategically mainstream mobile technologies to improve the lives of women and children.

The eight 2012 grant winners include:

Changamka

Changamka Microhealth Ltd. currently provides card-based saving and health payment services in Nairobi, Kenya. Under the proposed project, these services will be transitioned to a mobile phone platform, and expanded to include targeted vouchers, informational interventions, savings incentives, and training of Traditional Birth Attendants (TBAs) to be champions of hospital delivery. A preliminary evaluation of the maternal savings program that covered 3,000 women indicates a direct relationship between savings, affordability, and access to services. Changamka seeks to empower women of child-bearing age, ensuring that they have the information and financial resources needed to obtain high quality care for themselves and their babies.

Clinton Health Access Initiative (CHAI)

The Clinton Health Access Initiative (CHAI) is saving lives in low-and middle-income countries by helping people gain access to essential medicines and health services. In Malawi, Frontline SMS technology has been recognized by the Ministry of Health (MoH) as an effective mechanism for quickly tracing patients who miss appointments, communicating CD4 and Early Infant Diagnostic results, and identifying patients with other urgent and pressing medical conditions. CHAI will continue existing efforts to support Malawis MoH by establishing a public-private partnership with local telecommunications providers to create long-term, low-cost solutions at the national scale to make this intervention and related mHealth interventions more affordable for the government. As a result of this work, CHAI expects that all mother-infant pairs who enrolled in a Prevention of Mother-To-Child Transmission of HIV (PMTCT) program and who miss an appointment will receive follow up within two weeks of their missed visit, and all mothers and their babies will return to clinics for health care within a month.

International Institute for Communication and Development (IICD)

The International Institute for Communication and Development (IICD) is a non-profit foundation, with over 15 years of experiences in using information and communication technology as a tool for development. To further improve child and maternal health monitoring in Yirimadjo, a poor outskirt community of Bamako, Mali, IICD and Orange Mali have partnered with a community development program to strengthen the work of local mothers acting as Community Health Workers (CHWs) via mobile phones. By making use of mobiles phones and a special mobile application, the semi-literate CHWs improve patient case management by conducting prevention, diagnosis and treatment in a more efficient and cost-effective way, thus serving more people faster in Yirimadjo. The community development program focuses particularly on malaria, as it is one of the main causes of maternal and child mortality in the area.

Malaria No More

Malaria No More is a nonprofit organization determined to help the world reach the global goal of near zero malaria deaths in Africa by 2015. With this in mind, Malaria No More helped develop and implement NightWatch, a malaria communications platform that uses celebrity voices to reach vulnerable populations through SMS text messaging, television, radio and music. NightWatch has attracted participation from Africas biggest stars, support from international private-sector partners, and endorsement from the Ministry of Health in each country of engagement, helping to save lives and empower families to take action in the global fight against malaria. Building on successful pilots in Senegal and Cameroon and thorough research on behavior change theory, Malaria No More plans to expand the NightWatch platform in Tanzania. Malaria No More will record celebrity voice messages to be sent to mobile subscribers; produce regular, interactive activations through regional radio stations to encourage mobile engagement; and initiate a targeted SMS campaign with mobile partner Zantel.

Praekelt Foundation

Praekelt Foundation builds open source, scalable mobile solutions that aim to improve the wellbeing of people living in poverty in South Africa. One example is working with a program funded by the Mobile Alliance for Maternal Action (MAMA) to provide a mobile-based SMS service for mothers and mothers-to-be with high quality, locally relevant, week-by-week information on pregnancy and infant care. The service will tie into a dynamic community portal with social networking features, additional SMS messaging, and interactive quizzes. This grant will support the development of additional features to significantly grow the user base (notably a live chat feature permitting real-time engagement with experts and counselors), an expanded SMS program to more quickly reach the lowest income mothers, and additional monitoring and evaluation sites to generate evidence on real health outcomes. MAMA aims to reach one million mothers and household decision makers in South Africa over three years, with appropriate and ethical advertising supporting the bulk of ongoing maintenance costs.

Medic Mobile

Medic Mobile develops technologies to leverage low-cost mobile platforms and connect people at every level of the health systemfrom clinicians to community health workers to patients – working with more than 30 international and local partners across 16 countries in Africa, Asia, North America, and South America. In partnership with DMF India and Stanford University, Medic Mobile will implement a two-year, multistage plan to leverage mobile infrastructure to send automated, timely, patient-centric SMS reminders for vaccinations in India. While some regions have experienced relative success in improving complete vaccination rates by one year of life, the national average remains a dismal 36.3%. Recent work by Medic Mobile demonstrates that an automated, text

Amsterdam, Netherlands (PRWEB) June 26, 2012

HEROware, Inc. the leader in High-Availability and Disaster Recovery Appliances, today announced a new original equipment manufacturing (OEM) partnership with 5nine Software, the leader in software solutions that help organizations to safeguard their investment in virtual infrastructure. With this partnership, HEROware extends its appliance product line to include the new HERO-vFirewall Security Appliance for Hyper-V. This product is being announced and released at Microsoft TechEd Europe in Amsterdam, Netherlands June 26th 2012. This strategic partnership will bring significant benefit to service providers, resellers and businesses world-wide looking for a complete agentless security solution for the Microsoft virtualization platform that is utilizing the extensibility of the new Windows Server Hyper-V virtual switch.

We are extremely excited to have this OEM agreement with 5nine Software, said Lynn Shourds, CTO, President and Founder of HEROware. We have been working together with 5nine Software for two years and were ready to release this product. This new virtual firewall and anti-malware solution will control network traffic between virtual machines, detect and block malicious attacks, and perform fast anti-virus scans, thus improving the security of a Hyper-V virtualized environment.

HEROware will integrate 5nine Software and rebrand and market this combined solution through MSPs and VARs world-wide; rapidly increasing market share in the U.S. and abroad for both 5nine Software and HEROware.

This new HERO-vFirewall Security Appliance for Hyper-V provides agentless Anti-Virus (AV), Anti-Malware and Virtual Firewall for Windows Server 2012, Windows 8 and Windows Server 2012 Hyper-V Release Candidates. The significance of security and compliance solutions for the cloud increases due to the rapidly growing amount of various vulnerabilities, malware, hacker techniques, and specific requirements for virtual infrastructures.

“Unlike traditional firewalls, the new HERO-vFirewall Security Appliance for Hyper-V allows customers to programmatically manage network security on both ‘per-VM’ and ‘per-Host’ basis – said Konstantin Malkov, CTO of 5nine Software , – “We are pleased to report that HERO-vFirewall Security Appliance for Hyper-V utilizes the first agentless Anti-Malware and Virtual Firewall solution for the Windows Server Hyper-V. The new Agentless Anti-Malware is fast, effective, and allows users to avoid anti-virus storms. This definitely decreases management costs and improves the security of Windows Server Hyper-V environments.”

HERO-vFirewall Security Appliance for Hyper-V combines multiple protection modules, including anti-malware, IDS, web application protection, log inspection and programmatic virtual firewall, in a single and centrally managed appliance.

This solution became possible with the new Windows 8 and Windows Server 2012 WFP (Windows Filtering Platform) interfaces, the new architecture of the Windows Server Hyper-V Virtual Switch, as well as new powerful APIs from Microsoft. New HERO-vFirewall Security Appliance for Hyper-V now consists of the User Mode service, which effectively implements and installs the WFP provider on the host machine, and the Kernel Mode driver, which implements Hyper-V virtual switch WPF-callout filtering. Deployment, network policies management and support of multiple guest Operating Systems (Windows, Linux, BSD and others) now is also significantly simplified. From an ROI standpoint this puts the HERO-vFirewall Security Appliance for Hyper-V much ahead of the current competition.

GNAX Health, Acuo Technologies and Client Outlook Announce Healthcare IT Alliance

Atlanta, GA (PRWEB) July 25, 2012

GNAX Health, Acuo Technologies and Client Outlook, announced today the formation of a new strategic alliance to provide an integrated and simplified solution for medical image access, exchange and management.

The cloud-based, clinical content management solution delivered through this alliance offers healthcare providers a cost effective way to deploy a best-of-breed solution that includes a vendor neutral archive (VNA) platform, an integrated universal medical image viewer and image exchange strategies that fit the needs of healthcare organizations.

The solution, available through a single contract, combines Acuos Universal Clinical Platform (UCP) with Client Outlooks eUnityTM clinical image visualization, sharing and collaboration toolset, hosted within GNAXs healthcare-focused cloud infrastructure and tier-4 data centers all supported by a cohesive customer support program. This collective offering provides necessary components critical to building a highly secure disaster recovery and business continuity solution for medical imaging without the infrastructure and costs associated with a traditional model. This solution also provides an economical way to store and protect data by freeing up primary local storage, reducing the total amount of storage needed and shifting from a capital intensive local archive to a pay-as-you-go operational service.

GNAX Health is also in the final stages of developing a web-based image exchange service, called SDEX (Secure DICOM Exchange). Integrated into the foundation of Acuos UCP and data structure as well with the Client Outlook viewer, SDEX provides customers with the benefits of a single, best-of-breed exchange solution. It meets the challenge of complicated workflows by integrating with the provider’s employee and patient identification systems to secure access and simplify patient searches. Studies are retrieved from any of the connected PACS, local edge devices or from the cloud archive, making the location of the image transparent to the end user. Providers are able to securely exchange and view images with other GNAX VNA and non-GNAX customers seamlessly, creating a health information exchange (HIE) platform with a workflow for medical imaging.

Acuos UCP simplifies the process of managing clinical content, providing virtualization and normalization of medical images and non-DICOM data, service orchestration, data replication, clinical workflow, compliance and contextual data management services, with a built-in performance management environment and dashboard.

Client Outlooks eUnity product provides a universal viewer that lets health care professionals access, manipulate and collaborate in real-time with diagnostic quality medical images using a web-browser and a mobile application for tablets that enables on-the-go viewing of all image modalities, including X-ray, CT, MRI, color ultrasound and X-Ray angiography.

The integration of these solutions solves a wide range of problems for our healthcare customers, said Jeff Hinkle, chief executive officer for GNAX Health. This offering tightly integrates world-class clinical content viewing, abstraction and life cycle management applications, data migration, cloud-computing and customer support services into a single bundle, greatly simplifying the process of administering enterprise medical image access, exchange and management while reducing IT costs.

All healthcare systems, including hospital networks, university hospitals, community hospitals, physician offices, and other organizations with complex use-case requirements stand to benefit greatly from the interoperability and economies of scale offered by this alliance. The ability to accelerate access to patient information at the point of care along with the collaborative benefits of having an integrated viewing platform improves clinical decision-making, enhances quality of care and speeds up treatment for patients.

Today, healthcare providers and the IT groups that support them face complexities and delays associated with managing multiple sets of clinical data. Departmental image data silos provide integration barriers and make it difficult to be responsive to patient demand, meaningful use requirements and audit demands. Scalability is an ongoing issue as the number and size of medical image files continues to grow at an exponential rate. Ultimately, these problems lead to difficulty in physicians accessing information and collaborating at the point of care.

This offering simplifies and resolves these issues, giving healthcare institutions a shared services approached provided by a trusted partner focused on solving these problems in an integrated and cohesive way. The money organizations can save by easing the process of moving, accessing and managing clinical data with this new approach, said Brenda Rankin, executive vice president and co-founder of Client Outlook, will allow them to put more money toward clinical quality improvements.

This consortium brings an innovative solution based on IHE standards to the marketplace that will disrupt the status quo in healthcare IT, noted Jeff Timbrook, chief executive officer for Acuo Technologies. Weve worked closely with GNAX and Client Outlook to develop an implementation approach that will save our customers significant time and effort. Healthcare organizations can get a complete solution through a single source while lowering their IT expenses with our unique pricing model.

Skoda Minotti and BlueBridge Networks Announce New Private Cloud Hosting Service

Cleveland, Ohio (PRWEB) November 08, 2012

Skoda Minotti Technology Partners is pleased to announce it has formed a strategic partnership with BlueBridge Networks LLC, a Cleveland-based provider of data center services and facilities.

The partnership combines Skoda Minottis professional information technology consulting and support services with Blue Bridges state-of-the-art data center infrastructure. The result Skoda Minotti Private Cloud a suite of cloud services designed for small- and mid-sized companies, built and supported by Skoda Minotti Technology Partners, in partnership with BlueBridge Networks.

Many small- and mid-sized businesses are considering moving part or all of their infrastructure or applications to the cloud, says Brian Rosenfelt, Principal in Skoda Minotti Technology Partners. But what many of them dont realize is that they will only see the real fruits of being in the cloud if they have the right technology professionals helping them take advantage of the efficiencies of cloud computing. The Skoda Minotti Private Cloud gives clients a place to safely and cost-effectively store and backup their applications and data, and provides them with as much support as individually needed to make their transition to and experience in the cloud a measurable success.

The most important step of the cloud transition process, according to Rosenfelt, involves determining what the technology goals and objectives are for each individual company.

This is an important step that weve found many companies overlook, says Rosenfelt. By utilizing our team of cloud experts who truly understand the benefits and different types of cloud computing services available, we help our clients select the appropriate services that will prove valuable for them in their targeted line of work.

The most popular cloud services for Skoda Minotti Technology Partners clients include: hosted desktops, hosted email, virtual servers, data co-location, voice-over-IP, backup and disaster recovery and business continuity, as well cloud email archiving, encryption, and security filtering.

Our companies have been unofficially partnering on these kind of technology projects for years, says Kevin Goodman, Managing Director, Partner at BlueBridge Networks LLC. We share a lot of the same core values, and we can offer clients a unique combination of top-notch infrastructure and client service.

Also unique the Skoda Minotti Private Clouds location.

Most people have a hard time understanding what the cloud really is or where their data and servers truly exist, says Rosenfelt. By having a Cleveland-based cloud, with a redundant location in Columbus, its really easy to explain where their most precious information is being stored. We encourage our clients to come visit the facilities and actually see where their cloud is and how it works. Its a unique concept to whats been known as cloud computing to this point.

For more information on the Skoda Minotti Private Cloud, please call Brian Rosenfelt at 440-449-6800.
