Bournemouth, Dorset (PRWEB) October 8, 2009

The UK’s largest privately owned data centre network and colocation provider C4L is proud to announce the launch of IPv6 across all of its networks. This next step continues C4L’s goal to be on the leading edge of connectivity in the UK data centre market. Furthermore, this news makes C4L the UK’s largest IPv6 and IPv4 data centre footprint network provider.

The Internet World has been using the Internet Protocol version 4 (IPv4) for the last two decades and has experienced tremendous success, hence the primary reason for the Internet community adopting IPv6 is one of space. IPv4 has a finite amount of address space which, thanks to the Internet’s rapid growth, is soon to run out. The exponentially larger amount of addresses within IPv6 will facilitate the Internet’s continuing growth. C4L is now offering IPv6 as standard at no additional charge. Customers will now be given the option of IPv6 addresses, and current customers requiring further IP addresses will also be offered the opportunity to use them.

C4L is the chosen provider for many of the UK’s largest bandwidth and connectivity providers for their data centre footprints. With the addition of IPv6 to C4L’s network, customers in virtually any UK data centre now have an increased number of providers they can get IPv6 services from such as NTT and Tinet (formerly Tiscali).

C4L continues to expand its network and be a market leader in the data centre connectivity industry and can now provide its range of services to over 30 colocation data centres across the UK. Leading Manufacturing Company Selects CRG emPerform for Strategic Succession Planning and Goal Management

(PRWEB) March 13, 2012

Propulsys Inc., a leading manufacturer of hydraulic drive products, has selected CRG emPerform to globalize its performance management processes and build an effective succession planning strategy. Based out of Hopkinsville, Kentucky, Propulsys Inc. relies on its global team of over 500 employees to deliver world-class products and customer service. Propulsys plans to use emPerform to ensure that company-wide performance expectations are consistently aligned with corporate objectives, and that succession gaps can be identified and addressed in an efficient manner.

“Succession planning and setting performance goals are critical processes that challenge a manufacturing company every day,” said Larry Dean, Global Director of Human Resources for Propulsys. “Using accurate performance data as a basis for succession forecasting and decision making is critical to our success and will save countless dollars in future training and development.”

Prior to selecting emPerform, Propulsys relied on a manual form-based appraisal system for evaluating employee performance. The overall process was not effective for a global workforce and the standardization of performance evaluations was impossible. “Clearly our processes had to be automated,” continued Larry. “We looked very hard at four different software vendors and selected emPerform for the fact that succession planning capabilities were built into the software versus having to buy constant upgrades or additional modules. Getting an all-in-one solution was a big cost-saver for our company”.

“Using emPerform, our employees will have a simple and consistent evaluation process and a better understanding of how their performance contributes to company goals,” said Larry. “We have several business units and emPerform provides real-time visibility into the performance health at every level within the organization”.

When asked about the implementation process, Larry commented, “Implementing emPerform was made much easier due to experience and diligence of the emPerform support team. They were very patient in helping us re-do and define a very critical process [talent management and succession]. User adoption was as expected some employees resisted a different process but after they used the system, they have been receptive and even complimented the ease-of-use and accessibility”.

CRG emPerform comes standard with the nine-box talent matrix for succession planning. Performance metrics and potential data from appraisals, self-assessments, 360 reviews and surveys are automatically fed into emPerform’s Succession Manager and gives managers and HR a snapshot of the performance health of their organization. Employees ready for advancement can be easily identified and employees in need of development can be addressed. Results from the Succession Manager can be monitored in real-time or exported for decision making. Succession Manager comes standard with emPerform. Customers are not charged extra for this powerful functionality.

DataBank, a Leading National Provider of Document Conversion Services, Stresses Importance of Data Privacy Day 2010

Beltsville, MD (PRWEB) January 28, 2010

Requiring a high standard of security and compliance when outsourcing document conversion services or scanning of paper files and data indexing normally associated with a document management solution, should be part of any organization’s data privacy plan. Protection against personal identity theft and unauthorized disclosure of confidential information should be a critical part of any outsourcing decision.

As the country celebrates Data Privacy Day they must not only consider digital data residing within their computer infrastructure; but must also protect the information currently in paper form or scanned digital images in document management , ERP, financial, HR and line-of-business systems that are part of their organizational processes every day.

When selecting an outsourcing vendor for scanning paper documents, engineering drawings, medical records, educational information, employment records, financial information, and government vital records, there are several important things to look for during the evaluation of vendors you might do business with:

SAS70 Type II Certification for Document Conversion Services – Policies and procedures audited by an independent third party firm to assure compliance and track chain of custody from the time documents are received or picked up at a client location until images and data are returned.

PCI DSS Certification – Protection against personal identity theft when documents contain financial information that could be abused if it falls into the hands of dishonest people or computers are hacked.

Employee Background Investigations – credit checks and CORI checks on all employees before hiring.

Employee and Visitor Confidentiality Agreements – Requirements of vendor certification as well as written confirmation of security requirements and policies for information and data prior to allowing anyone into a service provider’s faculty.

Building Access and Security – 24X7 Security by an experienced and qualified agency, and tight access controls through multiple levels of personnel identification before entrance to the facility is granted.

Employee Training on Security and Confidentiality of Client Documents – It is no longer acceptable to say you will protect customer information; you must document how you are going to do it plus educate and monitor employee compliance.

Software-as-a-Service – If you are considering an outsourced hosted solution with information access over the Web, you must be assured of an effective encryption, redundant back-up, and have a documented disaster recovery plan.

Dick Aschman, CEO, of DataBank noted; “Protecting the privacy and confidentiality of client documents and data is a very important aspect of our business in these challenging times. The investments we have made in business processes, protecting our infrastructure, screening our personnel, and obtaining independent audit certifications are focused on providing industry leading levels of security for document conversion services and data management at all of our full-service facilities throughout the nation.”

Chuck Bauer, president and COO, said; “We are pleased to see the emphasis being placed on privacy and security in our industry. Events such as Data Privacy Day bring much needed attention to how people protect their information still on paper and while at a vendor facility for conversion to digital imaging. The government and major corporate clients we serve select DataBank because of our quality and our security and compliance infrastructure.”

Arbor Networks Introduces New Version of the Peakflow

CHELMSFORD, MA (PRWEB) April 24, 2012

Arbor Networks, Inc., a leading provider of security and network management solutions for enterprise and service provider networks, today announced the availability of version 5.7 of Peakflow SP, the industrys leading network-wide infrastructure security and traffic-monitoring platform.

According to a recent report from Infonetics Research titled DDoS Prevention Appliance Market Outlook, Arbor Networks was cited as the dominant leader for DDoS prevention overall, with a 75.4 percent market share in the carrier transport and wired broadband market segment, versus 8.8 percent for the next competitor.” Arbor quietly took control of the DDoS prevention appliance market over the last ten years, but with the massive increase in volume, size, and mainstream visibility of DDoS attacks, Arbor has emerged as a key security partner for large service providers around the globe, said Jeff Wilson Infonetics Research, Principal Analyst, Security.

The vast majority of the worlds leading service providers rely on Arbors Peakflow SP platform to proactively fend off malicious threats such as botnets and volumetric and application-layer distributed denial of service (DDoS) attacks, while strengthening the availability and quality of their services. The Peakflow SP platform includes two main components, Peakflow SP and the Threat Management System (TMS). Peakflow SP combines network-wide anomaly detection and traffic engineering with TMSs carrier-class threat management, which automatically detects and surgically removes only attack traffic, while maintaining legitimate business traffic. With the ability to mitigate only the attack traffic, customer-facing services remain available while providers actively mitigate attacks.

New features include the ATLAS Intelligence Feed (AIF), which delivers automated protection from virtually all known botnets, plus a real-time update service that protects customers from new botnets as they emerge. No other product or vendor has this capability. In February, Arbor announced that Japans KDDI, a global provider of fixed-line and mobile communications services, had incorporated AIF functionality into its security service offerings. Additionally, Peakflow SP now delivers an enhanced suite of detection and countermeasures that protect business-critical servers from application-layer attacks caused by malformed and abusive SSL signaling and negotiation, retransmit storms and IPv6 attack vectors.

ATLAS Intelligence Feed

AIF also delivers deep DDoS signatures in real-time to keep networks protected against hundreds of botnet-fueled DDoS attack toolsets and their variants. This unique feed automates the identification of attacks against infrastructure and services from known botnets while ensuring that updates for new threats are automatically delivered without software upgrades. The ATLAS Intelligence Feed enables Peakflow SP customers to directly benefit from the depth and breadth of Arbors research team.

The Arbor Security Engineering & Response Team (ASERT) is a recognized industry expert when it comes to Internet threat analysis. ASERTs primary focus is on botnets, which account for a majority of the DDoS attacks on the Internet today. ASERT has unique visibility into DDoS botnets because of its ATLAS infrastructure, which combines a darknet sensor network with traffic data from more than 100 service provider customers around the world. This enormous dataset enables ASERT to develop a unique, globally-scoped view of malicious traffic traversing backbone networks that form the Internet’s core. This insight is critical, as botnets are constantly changing and updating to thwart detection.

SSL Protocol Attack Protection

Today, Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) provides the necessary security and encryption for enterprises and their customers to safeguard sensitive transactions and email over the Internet. As enterprises increasingly rely on SSL for their mission critical communications, it becomes a more significant target for DDoS attacks. To ensure the availability of SSL-powered services, Arbors Peakflow SP now delivers DDoS protections for SSL regardless of the application HTTPS, POP3S, SMTPS, etc. Peakflow SP blocks SSL DDoS attacks with ASERT-designed protections that guard against malformed traffic, attempts to continually renegotiate connections and other advanced attacks that aim to disrupt service availability.

Peakflow SP has dominated the service provider market for a long time because we continue to invest and innovate in the platform, said Colin Doherty, Arbor Networks president. Increasingly, large enterprises, hosting providers and cloud providers are also deploying Peakflow SP because of the advanced, proven DDoS protection the solution provides. Peakflow SP plays a critical role in securing the Internet from availability threats like denial of service attacks. It also provides extremely valuable insight into network traffic with actionable intelligence that provides real value for security, operations and even marketing teams within a provider organization. Peakflow is and will remain a very robust security and traffic management platform.

Are Your SMB Operations Leading or Lagging? Network Automation Outlines the Top 6 IT Pain Points Hindering SMB Growth

Los Angeles, CA (PRWEB) April 24, 2012

Network Automation, the premier provider of IT and business process automation software AutoMate 9TM, released the Top 6 IT pain points that face SMBs, outlining strategies to alleviate each challenge by streamlining operations and reducing cost through automation technology.

The pain points are derived from customer use cases, highlighting the unique challenges SMBs face each day that hinder productivity and stunt corporate growth. From big data and rapid report generation to cloud integration and executing scheduled system upgrades, automation addresses each concern simply and effectively through a no-code interface, without the need for additional IT staff or an increase in employee hours.

Network Automations Top 6 IT Pain Points

1. SMB Pain: Distilling Big Data, Rapid Reporting As data is more readily available from seemingly endless sources, businesses are mining metrics to make more informed decisions. Uncovering and organizing this large quantity of information is quite a substantial undertaking, straining resources and taking significant blocks of employee time.

How Can Automation Help? Automation can quickly and easily locate the data you are looking for by setting a task to search parameters of your choosing. Once retrieved, the automation software will automatically generate reports in Excel (or any other formats of your choice), and send the finished report (via email or collaboration software) to appropriate staff members for analysis.

2. SMB Pain: Cloud Integration Moving data and Apps from physical servers to the cloud can streamline almost any operation, making information more readily available to employees in and out of the office. However, making this transition takes time and IT resources that some SMBs just dont have.

How Can Automation Help? The integration of processes and data is easily streamlined through automation. While some manual steps are still required, the majority of the movement from physical to virtual servers can easily be automated to cut cost and reduce hours spent.

3. SMB Pain: Continual System Upgrades and Maintenance Unruly ways of tracking which team members have what programs, and what versions of programs, on their individual device can be a huge time waster not to mention tracking the time frame of when each needs to be updated.

How Can Automation Help? Automation can help manage each physical and virtual machines update, knowing when to update each and automatically updating as instructed even after hours so as not to disrupt the workflow.

4. SMB Pain: Internal IT Communications Mission critical communications are constantly streaming in and out of business units its up to the IT department to keep things running smoothly. From managing email overloads and monitoring for spam and viruses, to governing privacy and regulating encryptions as well as setting up customer email campaigns and tracking email metrics, this job can be overwhelming for smaller IT departments.

How Can Automation Help? Automation software can automate almost any email function seamlessly and without supervision. It can direct emails to the correct mailboxes, generate reports detailing metrics, and pull data from any campaign.

5. SMB Pain: Cost of IT IT is often viewed as a cost center with a hefty presence on the company ledger. While extremely necessary from an operations standpoint, the department does not directly bring in profits, while at the same time spending money to solve internal challenges. To boil it down theyre under constant pressure to do more, with less.

How Can Automation Help? Automation software allows the IT team to efficiently monitor almost every business process and provide on-demand reporting metrics to most departments including the breadwinner sales. It also decreases overhead, working solo after hours or on weekends so staff doesnt have to.

6. SMB Pain: Regulating Ecosystem Connectivity SMBs operate using many disparate systems that generally do not work with each other. It takes time and resources to make them play well with others, requiring timely, manual work to integrate the multiple programs.

How Can Automation Help? Automation software works as the middleman to translate and bridge the gap between programs. It can integrate disparate systems such as SQL-AWS, FTP file systems, order entry accounting, and more to speed up connectivity and keep things moving.

“We are under constant pressure to simultaneously integrate sophisticated processing capabilities for our physicians and staff, while maintaining quality standards of healthcare delivery and compliance reporting, said Anthony Santos, Business Office IT Manager, Los Angeles Cardiology Associates. Automation allows us to perform efficiently under tight budgets, allowing our human resources to be fully engaged in additional actions critical to serving our patients.”

To be successful, SMBs must seek out ways to more efficiently manage operations with few resources, said Dustin Snell, founder and CTO of Network Automation. At its core, automation is all about increasing productivity without bogging down staff with additional responsibilities. The technologys goal is to streamline business processes and liberate human capital so that an organization can provide better customer service, increase productivity, and capitalize on new revenue opportunities.

AutoMate 9s interface increases productivity and control of production environments. Its easy-to-use, no-code interface allows the platform to deliver value for every type of SMB user, from non-technical personnel to the experienced IT manager.
