Arbor Networks Introduces New Version of the Peakflow

CHELMSFORD, MA (PRWEB) April 24, 2012

Arbor Networks, Inc., a leading provider of security and network management solutions for enterprise and service provider networks, today announced the availability of version 5.7 of Peakflow SP, the industrys leading network-wide infrastructure security and traffic-monitoring platform.

According to a recent report from Infonetics Research titled DDoS Prevention Appliance Market Outlook, Arbor Networks was cited as the dominant leader for DDoS prevention overall, with a 75.4 percent market share in the carrier transport and wired broadband market segment, versus 8.8 percent for the next competitor.” Arbor quietly took control of the DDoS prevention appliance market over the last ten years, but with the massive increase in volume, size, and mainstream visibility of DDoS attacks, Arbor has emerged as a key security partner for large service providers around the globe, said Jeff Wilson Infonetics Research, Principal Analyst, Security.

The vast majority of the worlds leading service providers rely on Arbors Peakflow SP platform to proactively fend off malicious threats such as botnets and volumetric and application-layer distributed denial of service (DDoS) attacks, while strengthening the availability and quality of their services. The Peakflow SP platform includes two main components, Peakflow SP and the Threat Management System (TMS). Peakflow SP combines network-wide anomaly detection and traffic engineering with TMSs carrier-class threat management, which automatically detects and surgically removes only attack traffic, while maintaining legitimate business traffic. With the ability to mitigate only the attack traffic, customer-facing services remain available while providers actively mitigate attacks.

New features include the ATLAS Intelligence Feed (AIF), which delivers automated protection from virtually all known botnets, plus a real-time update service that protects customers from new botnets as they emerge. No other product or vendor has this capability. In February, Arbor announced that Japans KDDI, a global provider of fixed-line and mobile communications services, had incorporated AIF functionality into its security service offerings. Additionally, Peakflow SP now delivers an enhanced suite of detection and countermeasures that protect business-critical servers from application-layer attacks caused by malformed and abusive SSL signaling and negotiation, retransmit storms and IPv6 attack vectors.

ATLAS Intelligence Feed

AIF also delivers deep DDoS signatures in real-time to keep networks protected against hundreds of botnet-fueled DDoS attack toolsets and their variants. This unique feed automates the identification of attacks against infrastructure and services from known botnets while ensuring that updates for new threats are automatically delivered without software upgrades. The ATLAS Intelligence Feed enables Peakflow SP customers to directly benefit from the depth and breadth of Arbors research team.

The Arbor Security Engineering & Response Team (ASERT) is a recognized industry expert when it comes to Internet threat analysis. ASERTs primary focus is on botnets, which account for a majority of the DDoS attacks on the Internet today. ASERT has unique visibility into DDoS botnets because of its ATLAS infrastructure, which combines a darknet sensor network with traffic data from more than 100 service provider customers around the world. This enormous dataset enables ASERT to develop a unique, globally-scoped view of malicious traffic traversing backbone networks that form the Internet’s core. This insight is critical, as botnets are constantly changing and updating to thwart detection.

SSL Protocol Attack Protection

Today, Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) provides the necessary security and encryption for enterprises and their customers to safeguard sensitive transactions and email over the Internet. As enterprises increasingly rely on SSL for their mission critical communications, it becomes a more significant target for DDoS attacks. To ensure the availability of SSL-powered services, Arbors Peakflow SP now delivers DDoS protections for SSL regardless of the application HTTPS, POP3S, SMTPS, etc. Peakflow SP blocks SSL DDoS attacks with ASERT-designed protections that guard against malformed traffic, attempts to continually renegotiate connections and other advanced attacks that aim to disrupt service availability.

Peakflow SP has dominated the service provider market for a long time because we continue to invest and innovate in the platform, said Colin Doherty, Arbor Networks president. Increasingly, large enterprises, hosting providers and cloud providers are also deploying Peakflow SP because of the advanced, proven DDoS protection the solution provides. Peakflow SP plays a critical role in securing the Internet from availability threats like denial of service attacks. It also provides extremely valuable insight into network traffic with actionable intelligence that provides real value for security, operations and even marketing teams within a provider organization. Peakflow is and will remain a very robust security and traffic management platform.

SunGard Launches Hosted Version of Front Arena Position Control and Risk Management Solution for Alternative Investments

(Vocus/PRWEB) November 30, 2010

SunGard has launched a hosted version of its Front Arena solution for hedge fund portfolio management, risk management and operations management. SunGards Front Arena is a cross-asset solution that provides trade capture, real-time profit & loss, position control and risk management capabilities. It helps hedge funds, traditional asset managers and other alternative investment managers to effectively and efficiently identify risk and exposure.

Hedge funds and asset managers face constricting infrastructure and IT budgets. At the same time, they have to address increasing pressure from institutional investors to demonstrate that they have robust control over the mission-critical aspects of their businesses. Many hedge funds and alternative asset managers are therefore turning to hosted delivery, rather than in-house installation. SunGards Front Arena hosted solution helps reduce the infrastructure burden by eliminating the need for customers to employ large IT teams to manage and maintain their own hardware, software, pricing, data and disaster recovery. It also allows customers to deploy scarce resources to focus on core competencies and alpha-generating activities. The hosted delivery method also offers rapid implementation without compromise in functionality.

Autotask Launches Chinese Version of Autotask Pro Software, Secures Tier 1 Customer in China

East Greenbush, NY (PRWEB) April 03, 2012

Autotask Corporation, the worlds leading provider of hosted IT business management solutions, today announced the availability of the first fully translated and localized version of its software in Simplified Chinese, and its first customer to use the new version, Beijing-based CapitalOnline Data Service Co., Ltd. (CDS). CDS, whose clients include several prestigious, multi-national businesses, provides custom data center solutions, Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS) and other IT services to a broad range of businesses throughout China.

Several months ago, Autotask made a strong commitment to serving the growing technology solutions sector in China, including expanding our operations in Beijing and creating a fully localized version of Autotask software in Chinese, said Autotask President and CEO Mark Cattini. Today, I am especially pleased to announce that CapitalOnline Data Services have selected Autotask to support both their current data center operations and their growing IT services outsourcing business.

CDS is an industry leader and one of the first Internet Data Center (IDC) providers in China, with operations in Beijing, Shanghai and Wuhan, among others. In 2009, CDS began to enter the cloud computing market, and in early 2011 successfully launched a range of integrated cloud computing and hosting products, communications solutions and outsourced IT services. CDS serves clients in a variety of industries including finance, insurance, government, education, medical, network, and many others.

As our business continues to grow and we expand the range of services we offer, we wanted to simplify our workflow, automate repetitive processes and increase our ability to provide exceptional service to our clients, said Yi Zheng, Director of Value-Added Services at CDS. We selected the Autotask solution because it will help us streamline technician scheduling, improve utilization rates and increase our business efficiencies. Most importantly, because it provides a unified view into all our client data, we can proactively manage and continuously improve our service delivery.

Autotask Corporation established its first software development operations outside of the United States, in Beijing, in late 2007. Since that time, the office has grown to include software engineering, quality assurance, implementation and client services. Autotasks Beijing engineering team was instrumental in re-coding the software to enable the translation process, and was responsible for developing the Chinese version of Autotask.

In November, 2011, the company introduced Fooming Hoh as Regional Director, China. Mr. Hoh, who brings more than 12 years experience in telecom and IT market development throughout the Asia Pacific, will expand Autotasks sales and marketing operations and introduce Autotask software to technology solutions providers in Asia, including China, Japan, Korea, India and the ASEAN region.

The reception from solution providers in China has been very gratifying, and we are very happy to be working with an industry leader like CDS as they expand their service offerings and build their operations, said Hoh. In a short time we have already established significant relationships within the technology community, and we look forward to building a team to better serve the needs of the IT channel here.

Autotask is a software-as-a-service (SaaS) offering that integrates a broad range of critical business systems including customer relationship management (CRM), service desk, tech scheduling, project management, billing and reporting, and provides real-time service delivery intelligence to help users understand the factors that drive their business and their profitability. The software is designed and optimized for Value Added Resellers (VARs), Managed Services Providers (MSPs), Independent Software Vendors (ISVs) and other technology solutions providers.

Because it is a cloud-based application, Autotask is accessible from virtually any computing or mobile device connected to the Internet and features a world-class application programming interface (API) that enables integrations with other tools technology solutions providers commonly rely on to run their businesses, including remote monitoring and management, backup and disaster recovery, product quoting, email hosting, billing applications and more.

In addition to the Chinese edition, Autotask recently released the German language version of its software at CeBIT in Hannover, Germany. Spanish, French, Italian and Japanese versions are expected to be released over the next few weeks.

Parties interested in learning more about Autotask or in scheduling an online demonstration of the Simplified Chinese version of Autotask software are encouraged to email the company at sales(at)autotask(dot)com or to call (86) 010-8278-4891.
