No Limits Software Announces Integration of the Full Line of Eaton Rack PDUs with Their RaMP Data Center Management (DCIM) Solution

St. Louis, MO (PRWEB) March 12, 2012

No Limits Software announces integration of the full line of Eaton rack power distribution units (PDUs) with their RaMP data center management solution.

Eaton offers a full line of rack PDUs with network connectivity designed to provide enterprise class distribution, monitoring and control for a data center. The rack PDU is the last link in the power chain, which makes it a strategic point to monitor power usage of the IT load for calculating power usage effectiveness (PUE). Eaton rack PDUs offer the capability to measure outlet-level power usage and report that information to a DCIM software solution.

“Data center managers are increasingly concerned with measuring and reducing power consumption,” said Joe Skorjanec, ePDU product manager, Eaton Distributed Power Solutions. “In addition to providing analytics to maximize capacity and efficiency, No Limits Softwares integration of Eaton PDUs with its RaMP solution adds a visual depiction of power at the rack and data center level.”

Its important for RaMP to be a vendor-neutral management platform for the data center, said Dave Cole, President of No Limits Software. We enjoy working with companies like Eaton because the quality of their products is well known in the industry.

The RaMP DCIM solution provides the following benefits:

Auto-discovery of detailed device information
Power and environmental monitoring down to the device level
Server monitoring to identify servers which should be retired, virtualized or consolidated
Software and operating system license management
Automated change control to reduce MTTR and increase availability
Web services API provides integration with other systems
PUE, DCiE and CADE energy management calculations
More accurate capacity planning data helps to reduce stranded power and shutdown risks
Device type roll-up views provide an easy way to quickly compare device performance
Enhanced rack views (device type, status, power usage, front and rear temperature
Tracking and alerting on data center tasks
Calculation of power usage at the rack PDU level without requiring an intelligent rack PDU
Enhanced visual data center editor makes it easy to design and edit the data center layout

No Limits Software Announces the Integration of Server Technologys Sentry CDU Family of rack PDUs with their RaMP DCIM Solution

St. Louis, MO (PRWEB) April 11, 2012

No Limits Software announces the integration with Server Technologys Sentry family of rack power distribution units (PDUs) with their RaMP data center management solution.

No Limits Software is quickly becoming the industrys most comprehensive software solution for identifying highly granular operational information contained within active assets across Enterprise-class data centers. Using a wide range of network-enabled technologies, our RaMP solution can produce the most complete picture of the data center landscape in real-time, said Dave Cole, president of No Limits Software.

As a foundational power supplier for the data center, Server Technology continues to pioneer the rack-based power distribution unit segment, offering the industrys largest selection of rack-based power distribution, monitoring and management devices in any conceivable power framework up to and including leading-edge 480/277v products. The stakes are getting much higher now that computing density, data center temperatures and power costs are rapidly rising, said Mark Harris, vice president of marketing for Server Technology. A number of smaller vendors offered power solutions in years past, but the loads and temperatures found in todays data centers are stratifying the ranks due to the extreme level of expertise and discipline required to create PDU solutions that continue to work in these demanding conditions. The value of RaMP is greatly enhanced by the accuracy of our Sentry product line monitoring. The integration of Server Techs Sentry family of PDU products into No Limits RaMP provides customers with the most reliable operating metrics available from any PDU supplier, added Harris. The Sentry family was recently verified by Underwriter Labs as offering the industrys most accurate measurement at the outlet level within a data center environment.

This demonstrates yet another step in our continuing journey to ensure RaMP is entirely vendor-neutral and has built-in support for all of the major IT infrastructure providers such as Server Tech, said Cole. He added, Server Tech has been providing rack-based PDUs as long as Ive been in the industry and has thousands of happy data center power distribution customers. Its a natural for us to lead with the leaders.

Web services API for integration with other systems
PUE, DCiE and CADE energy management calculations
Accurate capacity planning data helps to reduce stranded power and shutdown risks
Device type roll-up views for an easy way to quickly compare device performance
Enhanced rack views (device type, status, power usage, front and rear temperature)
Tracking of data center tasks
Enhanced visual data center editor makes it easy to design and edit data center layout

No Limits Software Announces Version 2.1 of RaMP Data Center Infrastructure Management (DCIM) Solution

St. Louis, MO (PRWEB) June 29, 2012

No Limits Software announces the release and immediate availability of RaMP version 2.1. The latest version includes new support for PDUs, in-row cooling and network attached storage as well as enhanced functionality for the visual data center editor, enhanced notifications with change alerting, and tracking of warranties, service contracts, leases and asset end of life.

RaMP provides automated asset and change management, real-time monitoring, capacity planning and energy management.

RaMP eliminates manual data entry of IT assets by retrieving the detailed configuration data directly from the asset. RaMP utilizes multiple communication protocols to gather and correlate the data. RaMP collects detailed asset configuration information to reduce the cost, time and inaccuracy of manually-entered data.

RaMPs automated change management greatly reduces the time required to diagnose the cause of system outages. Studies have found that as many as 80% of outages are due to a change and that 80% of the mean time to repair is trying to determine what changed. By reviewing RaMPs automated change log, problem managers can recommend a fix to the problem over 80% of the time, with a first fix rate of over 90%. RaMP v2.1 will alert you to changes made in the data center, including changes made without authorization.

New RaMP v2.1 features include the following:

Support for PDUs with detailed information down to the panel schedule

Support for in-row cooling

Support for network attached storage

Enhanced data center visual editor with support for rack hot and cold aisle containment

Tracking of warranties, service contracts, leases and asset end of life

Enhanced notification to alert you to changes made in the data center

In addition to the new functionality, RaMP team continues to increase the number of supported manufacturers and devices.

Logicalis Helps IT Pros RAMP Up Their Budgets for 2012

Farmington Hills, MI (PRWEB) December 20, 2011

The end of the year traditionally marks a time of planning for CIOs and other technology professionals who are waiting for the New Year before investing their IT budgets in upgrades and acquisitions. Planning takes an even more important role when those budgets are tight, so Logicalis, an international provider of integrated information and communications technology (ICT) solutions and services, has put together a 2012 IT Wish List based on what its customers IT pros are saying is going to be most important when 2012 gets underway.

You can sum it up in one word: RAMP reliability, accessibility, mobility and productivity, says Vince DeLuca, Logicalis COO. The technologies exist now to meet the demands of corporate users in each of these four critical areas and its going to be incumbent upon CIOs and their staffs to offer data to employees and customers in the way they want to access it. Thats the task for 2012 and anyone wearing an IT hat will need to plan ahead, use their budgets wisely, and deliver on the promise that todays technology has to offer.
