Leading Manufacturing Company Selects CRG emPerform for Strategic Succession Planning and Goal Management

(PRWEB) March 13, 2012

Propulsys Inc., a leading manufacturer of hydraulic drive products, has selected CRG emPerform to globalize its performance management processes and build an effective succession planning strategy. Based out of Hopkinsville, Kentucky, Propulsys Inc. relies on its global team of over 500 employees to deliver world-class products and customer service. Propulsys plans to use emPerform to ensure that company-wide performance expectations are consistently aligned with corporate objectives, and that succession gaps can be identified and addressed in an efficient manner.

“Succession planning and setting performance goals are critical processes that challenge a manufacturing company every day,” said Larry Dean, Global Director of Human Resources for Propulsys. “Using accurate performance data as a basis for succession forecasting and decision making is critical to our success and will save countless dollars in future training and development.”

Prior to selecting emPerform, Propulsys relied on a manual form-based appraisal system for evaluating employee performance. The overall process was not effective for a global workforce and the standardization of performance evaluations was impossible. “Clearly our processes had to be automated,” continued Larry. “We looked very hard at four different software vendors and selected emPerform for the fact that succession planning capabilities were built into the software versus having to buy constant upgrades or additional modules. Getting an all-in-one solution was a big cost-saver for our company”.

“Using emPerform, our employees will have a simple and consistent evaluation process and a better understanding of how their performance contributes to company goals,” said Larry. “We have several business units and emPerform provides real-time visibility into the performance health at every level within the organization”.

When asked about the implementation process, Larry commented, “Implementing emPerform was made much easier due to experience and diligence of the emPerform support team. They were very patient in helping us re-do and define a very critical process [talent management and succession]. User adoption was as expected some employees resisted a different process but after they used the system, they have been receptive and even complimented the ease-of-use and accessibility”.

CRG emPerform comes standard with the nine-box talent matrix for succession planning. Performance metrics and potential data from appraisals, self-assessments, 360 reviews and surveys are automatically fed into emPerform’s Succession Manager and gives managers and HR a snapshot of the performance health of their organization. Employees ready for advancement can be easily identified and employees in need of development can be addressed. Results from the Succession Manager can be monitored in real-time or exported for decision making. Succession Manager comes standard with emPerform. Customers are not charged extra for this powerful functionality.

Planning for the Unpredictable

Tampa, FL (Vocus) June 22, 2010

Disasters seem to strike at the most inopportune times. With forecasters predicting up to 14 named hurricanes in the Atlantic region this year, businesses need to have a plan in place to protect their information and ensure continuity.

All too often, business owners assume their business wont be affected by a hurricane, and if they are, they can easily recover lost information and records, said Marshall Stevens, co-owner of Stevens & Stevens Business Records Management, a full-service records storage and management center specializing in disaster recovery planning. The truth is, we never know who or what will be affected by a hurricane. Losing information could mean the loss of your business, no matter how big or how small a company is, so developing a plan to protect your data is crucial.

Stevens says business owners with an executable disaster recovery plan should consider the following questions:

XSolutions Article Series Guides Businesses In Disaster Recovery Planning

Pomona, NY (PRWEB) October 29, 2012

XSolutions Consulting Services LLC has written a series of articles promoting Disaster Recovery Planning among small-to-medium size businesses (SMBs). Numerous studies show that as many as 70% of small businesses close their doors shortly after suffering from a major disaster. Those businesses were not prepared and suffered as a result. The key to surviving a disaster is planning; giving careful thought to your companys IT needs and taking steps to ensure that they are met during and after a catastrophe. A disaster plan must have at its core the concept of Business Continuity.

Through its articles, XSolutions hopes to increase awareness among SMBs that IT disaster planning is critical to their long term survival. These articles are free to read and are designed to stimulate action among small business owners. Here is what youll learn:

Issue 14 Every Business Needs An IT Backup / Disaster Recovery Plan: this article discusses the differences between a mere backup plan and a full Disaster Recovery Plan. It goes on to list a series of questions SMBs can use to check their own plans to make sure theyre covered.

Issue 18 The Weakest Link in IT Security: learn how social engineering attacks are used by cyber criminals to gain entry into a firms computer systems and what businesses can do to thwart their advances. Cyber-crime is a serious issue and generates millions of dollars in losses each year.

Issue 19 Your Business Needs A Records Management Program: many companies only think about the data they currently hold in their computer systems, however, what they may not realize is that critical hard copy documents and digitized files not stored in a central, protected location makes a business vulnerable if disaster strikes. Therefore, a Records Management Program is a vital piece of a comprehensive disaster plan.

Issue 20 Establish An Emergency Operations Center: if your main location is destroyed in a catastrophe, how will your business survive? This article discusses what you need to consider when creating an Emergency Operations Center from which youll direct the recovery efforts of your business and communicate with employees and customers during and after a disaster. The key is advanced planning.

Backup / Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity are areas of paramount importance to all businesses, says Joseph Imperato Sr., Managing Partner at XSolutions. Merely backing up data is not enough to ensure a companys survival. That is why we wrote these articles and we plan to post more information on this critical topic.
