GL conveys the availability of its OC-3 STM-1 and OC-12 STM-4 ATM Protocol Analyzer

Gaithersburg, Maryland (PRWEB) April 10, 2012

GL Communications Inc. a leader in providing PC-based test, analysis and simulation products and consulting services to the worldwide telecommunications industry, conveyed today the availability of its product OC-3 STM-1 and OC-12 STM-4 ATM Protocol Analyzer software.

Speaking to media persons, Mr. Vijay Kulkarni CEO of the company said, Asynchronous Transfer Mode (ATM) is a flexible network, which carries voice, video, and data in the same way, i.e. fixed length cells.

He added, ATM network basically has two kinds of interfaces i.e. UNI (Interface between ATM User and Public ATM switch) and NNI (Interface between two Public ATM switches). Similar to the OSI Protocol model, ATM protocol architecture has an ATM Layer as Layer 2, ATM Adaptation Layer (AAL) as Layer 3, and other higher layers depending on C-Plane, U-Plane or Layer Management Plane. User information is transferred across U-Plane and Signaling messages are transferred across C-Plane. ATM-UNI signaling is used to create and release SVCs along with a particular QoS attached to it depending bandwidth on demand.

Mr.Kulkarni further added, GL’s OC-3 STM-1 OC-12 STM-4 ATM Protocol Analyzer is used to analyze and decode different ATM protocols like ATM, AAL2 Protocols (CPS-SDU, SSSAR-SDU, and SSCS), AAL5 (CPCS), UNI and others across U plane and C plane of UNI and NNI interface.

GL Conveys the Availability of its PoS (Packet over SONET) Protocol Analyzer for OC-3 STM-1 and OC-12 STM-4

Gaithersburg, Maryland (PRWEB) April 12, 2012

GL Communications Inc. a leader in providing PC-based test, analysis and simulation products and consulting services to the worldwide telecommunications industry, conveyed today the availability of its product PoS (Packet over SONET) Protocol Analyzer for OC-3 STM-1 and OC-12 STM-4.

Speaking to media persons, Mr. Vijay Kulkarni CEO of the company said, The PoS (Packet over SONET) Protocol Analyzer captures a host of PoS protocols exchanged between the two nodes over SONET & provides useful analysis, which includes distribution of protocols, protocol fields, frame lengths, and frame status. User can obtain detailed analysis of the protocol and can perform various statistics measurements.

He added, GL’s PoS protocol analyzer supports analysis of Point-to-point protocol (PPP) which is a link layer protocol, which encapsulates other network layer protocols like IP for transmission on synchronous and asynchronous communications lines. Today the PPP protocol standard finds wide use in synchronous connections between LANs, bridges, routers and other intermediate devices. Two major features of PPP protocol are: Authentication and Encapsulation of higher layer protocols.

GL conveys the availability of its UMTS Protocol Analyzer for OC-3 STM-1 and OC-12 STM-4

Gaithersburg, Maryland (PRWEB) April 14, 2012

Gaithersburg, Maryland, USA -April 13, 2012- GL Communications Inc. a leader in providing PC-based test, analysis and simulation products and consulting services to the worldwide telecommunications industry, conveyed today the availability of its product UMTS Protocol Analyzer for OC-3 STM-1 and OC-12 STM-4.

Speaking to media persons, Mr. Vijay Kulkarni CEO of the company said, UMTS (Universal Mobile Telecommunications System) being an access network in the mobile communication area provides a common interface to both GSM and GPRS core network. UMTS is capable of handling both Circuit-Switched (CS) as well as Packet-Switched (PS) data simultaneously through its UTRAN network.

He added, GLs OC-3 OC-12 and STM-1 STM-4 UMTS analyzer is capable of capturing, decoding, and performing various test measurements across various interfaces i.e. Iub, Iur, IuCS and IuPS interfaces of the UMTS network based ATM transport layer. It helps in fault diagnosis and troubleshooting of UMTS network. Multiple instances of UMTS Analyzer can run simultaneously capturing data (real time and off-line) on multiple OC-3 or OC-12 interfaces.

GL conveys its STM-1 Mux and Traffic Capture/Analysis Tool

Gaithersburg, MD (PRWEB) August 25, 2012

GL Communications Inc. a leader in providing PC-based test, analysis and simulation products and consulting services to the worldwide telecommunications industry, conveyed today the availability of its product STM-1 Mux and Traffic Capture/Analysis 63 E1 over STM-1 Multiplexer.

Speaking to media persons, Mr. Vijay Kulkarni CEO of the company said, STM-1 Mux is a cost-effective, compact (only 1U high), SDH (Synchronous Digital Hierarchy) multiplexer that is designed for applications in metro and access networks for efficient transport of traditional TDM and emerging data traffic. It provides 63 E1 TDM interfaces in only 1U standard 19″ platform. It is applicable for SDH TDM point-to-point network transmission and switching. STM-1 Mux can be used in various network topologies such as point-to-point, chain, ring, hub, and mesh networks.

He added, The STM-1 MUX multiplexes 63 E1 signals into a STM-1 stream, with TU-12 cross-connect capability. As a standard and compact SDH TDM device, the STM-1 multiplexer is best suited to applications where high-density E1 ports are required to interface with an SDH network through STM-1 fiber optic connections. The device can be managed either through the embedded DCC channel within the STM-1 signal, or through the local RJ-45 management interface on the equipment panel. When multiple 63 E1 over STM-1 multiplexers are stacked together, an RS-485 bus may be used to link the units to form a single managed object. There are also alarm indication lights and a LCD screen on the panel for operation monitoring.

Mr.Kulkarni further added, The STM-1 MUX has typical application with GLs Dual, Quad, and Octal E1 Cards and also with other GL products viz., MultiLink PPP (MLPPP) Emulator,Inverse Multiplexing over ATM (IMA) Protocol Emulation, MultiLink Frame Relay (MFR), Digital Central Office Switch Simulator (DCOSS).
