Time-To-Play Puppets Endorse Favorite IT Consultant

Its not usual to have a satisfied customer speak highly of a company but what about a pair of puppets? Time-to-Play.com is an online resource for gift givers of toys and family entertainment run by aNb Media and is very pleased with the IT support provided by eMazzanti Technologies. Rather than the normal kudos, the president and Editor-in-Chief decided on a more whimsical endorsement using their own voices and two excited puppets. Testing and writing about toys all day brings out the zaniness in us at times, noted Jim Silver, editor-in-chief, aNb Media. Weve been so happy with eMazzanti Technologies that we decided to get a little silly about something we take very seriouslykeeping our computers and network up and running.

Not Funny: Technology Hodge-Podge Costs $ 200,000 Annually

As aNb Media grew to 13 people so did the computer problems. The firms network, hardware and software became a hodge-podge of disparate technologies and incompatibilitiesold and newer computers, mixed operating systems, different software versions, etc. Other technology-related issues such as effective firewalls, spam filters, slow internet access and sporadic backup-protection, dramatically impeded productivity in and out of the office. The technology problems also flooded employee computers and mobile devices with spam. The end result: IT issues were costing the company an estimated $ 200,000 annually and hurting their public outreach efforts as well.

New IT Partner Sought

Though aNb Media had an existing IT partner, the company was not solving the problems that persisted within the toy publishers operation. It decided to start the search for a new IT consultant by interviewing three firms, eMazzanti Technologies being one of the candidates. eMazzanti was hired on the spot. The companys entire operation is now more secure against catastrophic data loss due to internal or external related disasters. In less than 10 minutes, eMazzanti had sized up our key IT problems and proposed solutions, said Silver. No other IT consultant even came close to grasping our situation and providing real answers to our problems.

Janette has played a major role at A&I Solutions. She led an upgrade for the A&I Solutions website, setup a demo environment for Application Performance Management (which will be used in A&Is APM webinar series), and developed the Wiki site for A&I Solutions. Prior to becoming a consultant with A&I Solutions, Janette was a senior Java software engineer, who was a technical lead that maintained the United Airlines booking engine.

Janette explains, I love development. I love creating an application from scratch–building something from nothing! I may be a product software expert now who deals mostly with implementation, but I always seek for any opportunity to get my hands on coding. Whenever there is a gap in a client’s solution (a missing automated task, need for formatted results, more metrics, etc.), I quickly provide it to them with my scripting skills and expert knowledge of the APM product.

She specializes in Application Performance Management implementation installation, dashboards/alerts customization, report generation, setting up automated tasks thru shell scripting, and customized java plugins for EPAgents.

Specifically, Janette has built services interfacing with GDS/CRS hosts (Apollo, ITA, Covermore, etc.) for the Travel Distribution Platform. Also, Janette was involved in projects containing requirement analysis, client interfacing, team coordination, and design and development.

Since becoming a member of the A&I Solutions team, Janette has worked for SeaWorld, Adventist Health System, Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority (WMATA), and is currently working with Liberty Mutual.

Success Story:

While working for Liberty Mutual, Janette displayed her strength in Java development. Recently, she wrote an improved log monitor EPAgent plugin that processes both non-encoded and encoded log files. This feature was not available in Liberty Mutuals current system. She, also, upgraded a web application that monitors Agents and retrieves data from a persistent DB, creating an easier and more convenient process for the firm.
