Attendance on Demand

Farmington Hills, MI (PRWEB) March 16, 2012

Attendance on Demand cloud-based employee time and attendance service today announced it has received a Best of SaaS Showplace (BoSS) Award in recognition of the quantifiable business results that its software-as-a-service (SaaS) solution has brought to its user customers across many industries.

Users of Attendance on Demand have cited measurable business results in many forms. Quantifiable results include reduced system and processing costs as well as a reduction in the resources and time required to enter time and attendance information, produce reports and process payroll. Also, because the solution tracks overtime, FMLA and PTO usage accurately and in real-time, management is empowered to make more strategic decisions about the allocation of staff hours.

For example, Bordine’s saved 40 percent in overtime costs by more accurately tracking staff time in real-time. Chase Hospitality reduced the staff time required to enter payroll information to process payments and produce reports by 40 percent. And, Overhead Door Company reduced system and processing costs 50 percent.

It is more important than ever that time and attendance solutions provide their users with bottom-line improvements, said Attendance on Demand President Chris Ciapala. We are very pleased that Attendance on Demand is being honored through an awards program designed specifically to promote the quantifiable business benefits being delivered using progressive SaaS solutions.

In announcing the award yesterday, Jeffrey M. Kaplan, the founder of the SaaS Showplace, now a part of the new Cloud Computing Showplace, and Managing Director of THINKstrategies, noted, “In todays tough economic climate, it is critical for organizations of all sizes to closely monitor day-to-day operating expenses in a cost-efficient fashion. Attendance on Demand enables organizations to more easily attain this objective.”

Merrill Brink News Reviews and Opinions: Can a Translation Management System Help You Create an Effective Globalized Website?

New York, NY (PRWEB) March 16, 2012

Merrill Brink News Reviews and Opinions:Businesses all over the US, Europe and Asia are increasingly looking towards previously uncharted territories for new markets and growth. Although most of us realize the importance of having a strong web presence, there are still many rapidly globalized businesses that are not taking the globalization of their website seriously enough.

Figures from the latest study of web use by language, carried out by Internet World Stats, show that as of May 2011, only 26.8 percent of web users speak English, while 24.2 percent speak Chinese. However, 56.6 percent of websites are in English, with only a small fraction featuring content in any one other language.

Lets look first at the BRIC nations for an example. Brazil, Russia, India and China are among the fastest growing economies in the world and US businesses are increasingly targeting markets within these nations. However, currently only two percent of websites are in Portuguese, 4.8 percent are in Russian, 4.5 percent are in Chinese and less than 0.1 percent are in Hindi.

Its not difficult to see the potential benefits of translating your corporate website to these languages, but many companies remain cautious about doing the job right and maintaining control over the content, and they are right to be so. Utilizing translation management with your content management system (CMS), however, will help companies ensure that their brand messages remain clear, their corporate terminology is consistent and their translation jobs are tracked and monitored, for full transparency and cost evaluation.

For most businesses embarking on a web globalization project, there will be two major concerns, each of which we will look at here. The first is the management and cost of work on a localized level. With the use of a translation management system (TMS), however, the management is automated centrally, reducing the overhead costs and the time to market. In addition, it still allows for the localized approach, with a qualified language service providers(LSP) network of subject matter linguists helping to create a site that is relevant to the country at which it is aimed but that retains the spirit and style of the corporations other literature and online material.

Secondly, businesses are likely to be concerned about maintaining a level of quality they feel they have more control over when online material is published in English. Inconsistency in translation services – whether with regards to the use of abbreviations, the messages and tone of voice being used, or simply a spelling issue can do serious harm to a brand. Again, a TMS will provide a means through which authorized personnel can submit and approve certain corporate terminology, preferred usage information and other style matters.

Using a TMS will help any companys move towards creating a truly global web presence as straightforward and effective as possible. It does this by allowing executives to quickly and easily submit translation projects online, download status reports, track budgets and oversee the progress of each job, 24/7 and in real time.

Minnesota Counties Information Systems Achieves Reliable, High Performance Data Protection with Unitrends

Columbia, SC (PRWEB) February 8, 2010

Unitrends (unitrends.com), the leader in affordable, heterogeneous D2D (Disk-to-Disk) and D2D2D (Disk-to-Disk-to-Disk)-based data protection backup appliances, today announced that Minnesota Counties Information Systems (MCIS) has achieved reliable, high-performance data protection for its mixed Microsoft and IBM iSeries operating environment using a disk-based appliance from Unitrends.

Minnesota Counties Information Systems (MCIS) is a joint-powers organization dedicated to providing quality, integrated information solutions through customized computer applications and responsive support to member counties. Established in 1975, MCIS provides services to thirteen full member counties and seven associate member counties. With offices in Grand Rapids, Minn., MCIS relies on a nimble staff of 12 to provide the software and technical support for its counties computerized work processes, e-government services and Web-based communications.

Just like most local governments, MCIS must conserve taxpayer dollars while delivering an increasingly high level of service. Given this mission, MCIS needed to improve its data protection reliability by shifting from its previous tape backup solution, which was becoming increasingly less reliable.

For disaster recovery purposes, MCIS also needed its replacement system to include a way to maintain offsite copies of backups while also providing highly automated local backups with ease of recovery in case of disaster. Additionally, it had to be easy to use with high-quality support so that MCIS could implement and manage the solution with existing staff. Finally, the solution had to support the organizations mix of operating environments which included Microsoft Windows, Microsoft SQL databases, Microsoft Exchange Server and IBM iSeries systems.

MCIS looked at the backup services offered by a local managed services provider, but in the end decided they would prefer to purchase a disk-to-disk solution that could be administered by MCIS staff. Based on a recommendation from its solution partner, CPS, MCIS selected a disk-to-disk backup solution from Unitrends.

I like Unitrends emphasis on products for small to medium businesses, and also their relationship with our partner CPS, Patricia Lenoch, network administrator for MCIS. I have been able to restore files many times without having to worry about having the correct media. Unitrends also offers great support… always excellent, timely, and thorough.”

Now, MCIS data archives are copied automatically on rotational (archive) drives as part of the Unitrends system. These removable drives with copies of backups are transferred to a secure offsite location, while the original backups remain on the local Unitrends appliance. This is a big improvement over tape, where the media could be transferred to a remote site, but then those backups were no longer readily available for quick recovery of files or systems at the local site.

Unitrends appliances are an ideal solution for environments that require data protection for a mix of operating environments without added cost or burden on IT staff productivity, said Dr. Mark Campbell, COO, Unitrends. Unitrends also provides an efficient method for delivering both the back up and archiving protection organizations like MCIS need all from a single, unified solution.

About Unitrends

Small and medium businesses have the same critical reliance on the integrity of their data as enterprises, but often cant afford the operational expenditure of a dedicated staff or the capital expenditure of replacing their IT infrastructure. Unitrends provides enterprise-level data protection, at the lowest total cost of ownership in the industry, through a family of scalable disk-based data protection appliances that integrate and protect existing heterogeneous computer and storage systems through a single, intuitive, graphical user interface.

Unitrends uses a common backup and recovery engine for providing protection for over 100 different versions of operating systems and applications. This means you can support Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Exchange, Microsoft SQL, Microsoft Hyper-V, VMware, Sun Solaris, Novell OES, Novell Netware, Novell GroupWise, Novell eDirectory, Linux, FreeBSD, Apple MacOS X, IBM pSeries/AIX, HP HP-UX, SCO UnixWare, SCO OpenServer, IBM iSeries/OS400, and SGI IRIX on notebooks, PCs, workstations, and servers and on DAS, NAS, or SAN storage.

GL Conveys the Availability of its GLInsight(TM): An Expert System for Decoding and Analysis of Fax and Modem Communications Over PSTN or IP Networks

Gaithersburg, Maryland (PRWEB) March 17, 2012

GL Communications Inc. a leader in providing PC-based test, analysis and simulation products and consulting services to the worldwide telecommunications industry, conveyed today the availability of its product GLInsight An expert system for decoding and analysis of Fax and Modem communications over PSTN or IP Networks.

Speaking to the press, Mr. Vijay Kulkarni CEO of the company said, GLInsight is a state-of-the-art system that provides promptly processed information and analysis of data collected on IP and PSTN networks. Decoded results are analyzed on a per-network basis. Alternatively, data from two networks can be combined to provide additional insight into the networks behavior.

He explained, Over PSTN networks, the raw files required for fax and modem analysis can be obtained using following hardware platforms: GL’s T1 E1 Analyzer with Call Capture Analysis (CCA) – The capability of CCA software to non-intrusively record calls directly from T1 E1 lines offers a solution to capture Voice/ Fax / Modem traffic from the 2-wire Analog interface. However, this capture solution requires the purchase of T1 E1 Analyzer. In other way, users can use GL’s 2-Wire Voice Recorder with Dual UTA – The Voice Recorder Software is primarily used in conjunction with Dual Universal Telephony Adapter (Dual UTA) hardware device to capture the voice/modem/fax data manually / automatically from the 2-wire Analog interface. The recorded PCM voice/data files can be analyzed using GL Insight Modem and Fax Analysis Software for 2-wire Analog interface and Adobe Audition (third-party application) for voice files analysis.

Similarly, for fax and modem analysis over IP, the captured files can be obtained using GL’s PacketScan – VoIP analyzer. The software supports capturing and decoding of Fax (T.38 data) calls over VoIP. Its fax decodes can be viewed in the form of T.38 call graph and call summary with decoded information for all T.38 messages received on the call. The captured fax calls by PacketScan can also be analyzed using GLInsight by saving the fax calls directly in (*.PCAP) Ethereal file format.

Mr.Kulkarni further added, GLInsight has a Windows

Supporting Quotes

We are honored to be recognized by SearchDataCenter.com as a systems management Product of the Year based on the technology innovation and affordability of Zenoss Enterprise, said Bill Karpovich, Zenoss co-founder and CEO. Our repeated acknowledgement by organizations like SearchDataCenter and significant customer deployments in large brand name enterprises clearly indicates that IT leaders are increasingly turning to Zenoss for a better unified monitoring solution for physical, virtual and cloud environments.

According to SearchDataCenter.com’s 2009 data center purchasing intentions survey, only 9% of U.S. data center managers plan to increase spending on systems management tools, said SearchDataCenter.coms executive editor Matt Stansberry. Budget-strapped IT shops simply don’t have the staff or the money to support high-maintenance systems management software — they need an off-the-shelf, inexpensive technology.
