Druva Honored as a Silver Winner in 2011 Products of the year Awards by Storage Magazine and SearchStorage.com

Mountain View, CA (PRWEB) February 14, 2012

Druva, a pioneer in enterprise endpoint data protection and retrieval, today announced that its inSync Enterprise solution has been named a Silver winner of the Storage Product of the Year Award in the Backup and Disaster Recovery Software and Services category by Storage Magazine and SearchStorage.com. The winners were selected by the Search Storage magazine-SearchStorage.com editorial staff, in conjunction with a team of users, industry experts, analysts and consultants. Winners were chosen for showing outstanding results in innovation, performance, ease of integration into existing environments, ease of use and manageability, functionality, and value.

In a recent test by Enterprise Strategy Group Lab, Druva inSync achieved 96 percent reduction (a 26-1 ratio) for backup files and demonstrated low resource consumption on the server and client. The SearchStorage judging panel gave Druva inSync Enterprise high marks for addressing the laptop data protection issue effectively. One judge on the panel also remarked that inSync Enterprise is really innovative and solves a major problem.

“Being named a silver winner of the storage industrys top product competition, the Storage Product of the Year, in the Backup and Disaster Recover Software and Services category, is a tremendous honor, said Jaspreet Singh, chairman and CEO of Druva. This award is further validation that we are solving a major challenge enterprises face in protecting data on endpoints. Our inSync solution is protecting over 500,000 endpoints worldwide, providing a solution that is easily managed by IT from a single console and is invisible to the end user. We will continue to develop and bring further innovative solutions as we solve future storage challenges.

Druva inSyncs Enterprise solution, introduced on February 2, 2011, is an industry-first application that solves a major – and previously unresolved – challenge: 73 percent of laptop users have cited intrusive backups as a major obstacle to productivity. Druva inSync’s lightweight, source-based, application-aware deduplication solves this problem, recognizing the storage habits of individual applications and supporting the most efficient deduplication of their associated files. As a result, a single storage server can back up 10 times as many users as competitive offerings, slash storage expenses by 90 percent and maximize ROI, while providing 100 percent deduplication accuracy for Outlook and Office applications. Druva inSyncs Enterprise software is also optimized for use of SSDs for increased performance and scalability. In addition, inSync enables simple one-click restores of any file or backup volume from a Web browser, iPhone, iPad or Android-based device, offers unobtrusive backups over any network LAN, WAN or VPN and is WAN-optimized for the mobile user.

Storage magazine and SearchStorage.com have chosen 18 enterprise data storage products of the year winners in six categories with gold, silver and bronze ranking for the 2011 Products of the Year competition. The panel of judges selected these winners from nearly 200 entries in the six data storage categories: backup and disaster recovery software and services, backup hardware, networking equipment, storage management tools, storage systems and storage system software.
