Leading IT Infrastructure solutions provider C4L Commences Phase Two of Bournemouth data centre

(PRWEB) October 18, 2011

C4L, a UK-based IT infrastructure solutions provider, is pleased to announce it has commenced the build of phase two at its Bournemouth data centre. The facility is being built to a Tier 2+ specification, and once complete will be one of the largest data centres in the South West. The expansion of the Bournemouth data centre will provide an additional 120 racks / 3,000 square feet of space, increasing capacity by two-thirds.

Internet infrastructure is becoming increasingly important as more and more organisations become heavily reliant on online services and connectivity in order to run their business, said Matt Hawkins, managing director of C4L. With the adoption of cloud computing increasing and more and more applications and services being delivered away from organisations own premises, we experienced a high level of demand for phase one of the Bournemouth data centre. So much so that the site reached full capacity within the first six months of it opening. The high level of demand for colocation space at the Bournemouth facility has prompted us to commence phase two of the build earlier than anticipated. The facility benefits from exceptionally low latency and excellent resilience as it’s connected to our private network, making it an ideal outside of London colocation facility. The Bournemouth data centre is being built to Tier 2+ specifications and at this site we can offer a wide range of IT services.

Phase two of the Bournemouth data centre will feature N+1 redundancy on power and cooling, as well as backup generators which will take the full load of the building should a mains power failure occur. At the facility, Riello will provide high energy efficiency via uninterruptable power supply (UPS) systems, whilst Airedale is to provide the sites cooling systems. Very Early Smoke Detection Apparatus (VESDA) supplies full smoke, fire detection and fire suppression systems. The buildings air conditioning will use direct expansion based cooling technology coupled with C4L’s cold aisle cooling practises to ensure maximum efficiency.

C4Ls Bournemouth data centre will have the latest advanced triple level security features, including a biometric entry system with a man trap, as well as pin code swipe cards and full 24/7 digital CCTV. The Bournemouth data centre, once completed, will be able to offer colocation space; including quarter, half and full racks up to 32 Amp dual feeds as standard. The Bournemouth data centre will also benefit from high levels of monitoring on power and cooling, ensuring maximum resilience at the site.

C4L is a data centre, internet and connectivity services provider. As well as owning a high speed fibre network, C4L has a presence in over 40 data centres across the UK and Europe. C4L provides its customers with an all encompassing solution, offering huge cost savings, greater innovation and peace of mind, with a minimum SLA of 99.95%.

Abacus Solutions Updates Business Continuity Services Offerings

Marietta, GA (PRWEB) October 24, 2011

Abacus Solutions, an IT infrastructure solutions provider, have recently updated their business continuity services offerings. Abacus works to create solution and service packages that are relevant to customers and IT industry professionals, so they are continuously modifying their packages to best fit customer needs.

Abacus has worked with IT engineers to build a range of packages that best meet the requirements of our customers. These packages meet the basic needs of our customers and then are fully customized to fulfill specific Recovery Point Objectives (RPO) and Recovery Time Objectives (RTO). Packages can also be customized to fit within a specific price point.

A key feature of Abacuss business continuity services is 100% coverage. This differs from other plans that only offer best efforts to get their customers back up and running. This means that in a disaster, if other customers are also down, response times may be delayed as the partner helps the other customer. Abacus has the resources to ensure that your issue will be responded to immediately. They also have a dedicated 800 number and email address for one point of contact.

We understand that in a disaster, things get chaotic, and customers need a reliable partner that they can turn to, said Patrick Schutz, Abacus Partner and Vice President of Services. Thats why Abacus can be such an excellent resource. We develop and test plans before an actual disaster occurs. That way we know exactly what to do and what we will deliver before the customer ever faces an issue.

Abacus offers four basic recovery packages. The first package offers a fully outsourced solution with no downtime. This plan includes all dedicated hardware, as well as Abacus managed services where Abacus houses and manages the hardware in their secure data center.

The second recovery package offers an online Vault system for backing up and storing computer files. Data is stored offsite, eliminating the need for tape. Abacus can then recover data remotely in less than 12 hours. The third package is tape based, where the customer sends Abacus their most recent data and Abacus will load the tape and open up for remote recovery within 24 hours. In the fourth package, Abacus will deliver a like or better hardware system to the customers preferred location for them to recover themselves within 48 hours.

Entreda Spells Opportunity for Cloud Services Providers

Menlo Park, CA (PRWEB) October 25, 2011

Entreda Inc. today announced the launch of the Entreda Service Delivery Platform (ESDP), a revolutionary new offering for cloud services providers (CSPs) including carriers & broadband ISPs, cloud IaaS & hosting vendors, vertical & specialty MSPs and more. By deploying the Entreda platform as an enhancement to their existing SME line-of-business, CSPs can close the SME IT support gap by delivering comprehensive and affordable managed IT-as-a-Service for their customers while generating a lucrative stream of incremental revenue.

Entreda is committed to helping cloud services providers (CSPs) close the SME IT support gap and help drive SME cloud adoption by delivering affordable enterprise-grade IT-as-a-Service, said Farshad Ghaffari, Co-founder of Entreda. On todays fragmented and silo-centric vendor landscape, SMEs often have to choose from among a salad bar of incompatible point solutions for backup, security and other core IT capabilities, or choose to go without essential disaster recovery and business continuity protection. With the launch of the Entreda Service Delivery Platform (ESDP), those days are gone. By augmenting their existing SME initiatives with the ESDP, cloud services providers can generate new value-added services income for their stakeholders, Ghaffari added.

As an investor in Entreda, I am pleased to see Entredas vision of IT-as-a-Service come to fruition with the launch of the Entreda Service Delivery Platform, said Jens Horstmann, Managing Director of Crestlight Venture Productions. Entreda is now well-positioned to help carriers and cloud services providers drive incremental revenue on their networks and serve the needs of 21st century SMEs, Horstmann added.

About the Entreda Service Delivery Platform (ESDP)

Designed from the ground up to enable cloud services providers to deliver affordable IT-as-a-Service to SMEs, the hybrid architecture ESDP includes 4 components as follows:

Entreda Connector Appliance: An intelligent, self-intalling hybrid cloud appliance that provides on-premise and remote IT services to SMEs including managed backup & recovery, firewall protection, network monitoring and more. The zero-touch Entreda Cloud Connector Appliance is managed by the system operator (i.e. service provider) on behalf of the SME, and can be configured and customized based on the SME’s requirements.

Entreda IT-as-a-Service Suite: A unified suite of must-have IT capabilities that streamlines an SME’s operations and closes the SME IT support gap while eliminating the SME’s dependence on legacy point solutions in backup/recovery, security, IT alerts and more. The ITaaS Suite can be customized to the needs of the system operator and upgraded to include enhanced functionality for the age of the cloud, including SaaS application acceleration, private cloud application hosting, app filtering and more.

Entreda Subscriber Enrollment Engine (SEE): An authentication widget to enable SMEs to monitor, support and receive alerts on all client devices enrolled in a given service subscription. The SEE provides visibility for system operators, customers and IT staff for all enrolled devices.

Entreda Management Console: A cloud management and automation portal enabling an SME or delegated IT consultant to configure and provision all services provided by the Entreda IT-as-a-Service Suite and Entreda Cloud Connector Appliance. The management console is customized for service delivery over a given provider’s network.

The Entreda Service Delivery Platform (ESDP) can be white-labeled or co-branded by an Entreda IT-as-a-Service partner, consistent with a partner’s enhanced cloud services strategy. Multiple business model and revenue-sharing options are available.

About Entreda

Entreda provides next-generation IT-as-a-Service infrastructure and applications to telecom carriers, cloud hosting vendors and managed services providers. The Entreda Service Delivery Platform, our flagship offering, enables our service delivery partners to provide enterprise-grade IT to SMEs, thereby closing the SME IT support gap while laying the foundation for secure migration to a cloud future. Don"t be Complacent About Your Business Continuity Late in the Season

Grand Cayman (PRWEB) October 25, 2011

The recent heavy rain has been a stark reminder that the hurricane season is not over yet. Ignition Ltd., a leader in off-shore IT services, is reminding businesses not to underestimate the importance of having a business continuity strategy in place.

Those of us living in the hurricane belt are well-aware of the potential hazards a storm can bring. For a business, damage to property, paper records, digital data and disruption to overall business activity are very real possibilities. The most likely concerns are water damage and communications failure, both of which are fairly easy to avoid with proper storage and reliable backup procedures.

Sonya Sherman, Ignitions Senior Records Management Consultant says Information is the lifeblood of an organisation and its important to make sure that the information is backed up and secured. Most organisations will have a hurricane plan with strategies in place to protect both people and property. But it is vital that these plans incorporate your information assets. These plans should also be reviewed regularly. Its very easy to become complacent during the good times but keeping on top of your disaster recovery plans is a must.

Building a comprehensive strategy will ensure that information assets are protected. This not only helps minimise the risks and losses associated with a disaster, but will help return a business to normal as quickly as possible. It is human nature to hope for the best, Sonya continues but its good sense to plan for the worst.

Together with looking at protecting information, businesses should also consider how records and critical information systems are stored and backed-up. Backing up data is a necessary process to ensuring business continuity. The traditional approach of physically backing-up data and productions systems to a tape and then storing at a separate location is a risky approach. Data is backed up, but what about applications to run the data? What if the tape was damaged or destroyed?

This is one of the reasons more and more companies are adopting the cloud. With the cloud, companies no longer need to store systems in-house and can in fact remove their own servers altogether. A significant consequence of moving a companys operations to the cloud is that the business will automatically have a disaster recovery and business continuity solution in place. Back-ups of data and applications are made without having to duplicate everything.

With Ignition, data and company specific applications are also copied between multiple data hosting centres. says Graham Pearson, CEO of the Ignition Group. This means that should one centre go down, data and applications will still be available. In reality these data hosting centres are built far more robustly than anybodys own office building with multiple redundancy and back-up systems in place. Whether your business is a small startup or a multi-regional organisation, the benefits of using the cloud as part of your business continuity solution is clear.

Overall, the important thing to remember is not to become complacent about your business continuity plans, especially at the tail end of the hurricane season. Its never too late to look at or review your disaster recovery strategies. Graham concludes.

Ignition offers a fully comprehensive service that helps businesses address their business continuity requirements. From developing a robust information management strategy through to cloud back-up solutions, Ignition has extensive experience building business-specific solutions.
